Here's a spin on the classic franchise league that I don't think anyone has tried.  Rules are simple:

1. Pick a team and a single season for that team (e.g. 2012-13 Heat)
2. Build your Sim Team using only players from that team/season, PLUS players from the seasons immediately before and after (11-12 and 13-14 Heat)
3. Salary cap is $50M, no clones, twist, rookies or WW
4. Team Name must be your "Core" Team (2012-13 Miami Heat)
5. NO OVERLAP - once a team is drafted all 3 seasons for that team are off limits to other owners, so if you want your favorite squad jump in early!

can you twist the player seasons?

ex: if i pick 12-13 heat can i use 05-06 ray allen?

no twist - gotta use the three seasons you select.  Should make for some interesting teams and some players who we don't normally see in the Sim.  And if a player was traded mid-season you have to use the version from your team.
