Sorry

Here we go

Final Four Predictions:

Menlo
85 affvid 30-2 11-1 14-0 5-1 16-0 5 7 13 A+ Conf Champion
CT Champion
NT (Sweet 16)

Amazing senior class, fb/press.  Should run through undefeated, I think the only game standing in their way is Chesnut Hill or Yeshiva, but they should be heavy favorites in both games.  Kantor is a big time scorer off the bench.

Greensboro
85 funngun10 30-5 8-0 15-3 7-2 14-2 2 3 2 A+ Conf Champion
NT At-large Bid
NT (Championship Game)

Spd in the press with 2 great perimeter players.  fungun has been on a tear.  2 very nice 70+ ath with reb/def.

Wisconsin Stout
85 pumphead 24-6 7-1 14-4 3-1 15-1 22 15 30 A+ Conf Champion
CT Champion
NT (1st Round)

Another fb/press team.  Elite LP scoring should be one of the best shooting teams as well as having some nice spd/bh/pas guards.

surprise pick is:

Ozarks
85 dschulze19 23-8 7-3 13-3 3-2 11-5   21 17 A- NT At-large Bid
NT (2nd Round)

Nice ath/spd, multiple LP scoring and a nice per threat.  Rosas is an elite PG really can't get much better there.  One thing missing is rebounding, but Teasely might make up for that later in the season.

  • Personally if I can get back to the S16 I'll be fine.  I'm riding the Webster and Horton train this season.  I have 2 key sophomores that could help make this team better; Raney is blue lp at 62 and Colmenero is blue per at 59.  If both can develop into solid scorers I might have another outside shot of getting far.

Here is a map of every human coached team, thought it would be interesting to look at.  Clearly Cali is pretty barren, I think thats part of the reason for piman/affvid being so elite, is that they both have pick of the littler in their respective locations(north/south cali)  Nothing else is really intriguing.

Just hoping that this years team isn't too humiliating..

Wow thanks! I hope I can make your surprise pick come through for you. A final four run would be awesome!

Midseason report is here(on time)

quick look at the previous predictions:

Menlo
  • Looks like a good prediction, a bit of a surprising loss against anderson, but they make up for it with multiple good wins and a leading rpi and 8th sos.  won't get the undefeated record like i thought but again anymore losses would be surprising.
Greensboro
  • looks nice, but actually a bit hard to judge with the sim games(and one loss), shouldn't be a concern however we know the roster is there and that fungun will use it right, at worst should lose 2 games in conference.
Wisconsin Stout
  • a loss to dominican I didn't expect(however it was ot and close so not a huge worry) and beat a few nice teams along the way.
Ozarks
  • surprise sim loss and then nothing much to go off of, was my last of the 4 to put in, but they look good so far.

If I was to drop anybody it would be Stout, and Ozarks for 2 reasons
  1. Stout always lets me down
  2. dschulze is still an "unproven" coach we can clearly see the recruiting level, but no big games played yet so far, and I hate to use that as my reasoning but it can impact on whether they become known as a good recruiting with teams making nice runs, but not yet hit that elite level, or has the ability and we just havent seen it yet with so few seasons.  I'm hoping its that 2nd one and Ozarks becomes a big player in phelan, but it is still unknown.  I'm not saying I'm taking either of these schools out  however from my predictions as I'm going to keep all four for now and just mention some schools that also might make the list and go far when i do my bracket preditions:

teams that look like contenders(in order of wis rank)

  • La Grange - i hate talking about how well my teams are going to do because I'll always get nervous and the fact that I've only played 1 human coach.  However I think the talent is there for a deep run if I don't run into another god forsaken zone team.
  • Cal Tech i mean super talented players and super talented coaches, with piman cal tech will be rarely out of the nc contention discussions
  • Centre is in the same boat, they are always in discussion for a nc
  • Wisky SP, always has an amazing team when you dont expect it and a 3rd nc in recent memory would be surprising but again thats kind of what rico has done recently.
  • Dominican, I'm not sure I didn't like the team when I looked at them and still not a "huge" fan but obviously I'm wrong as danno has this team chugging a lot with realistically probably the toughest sos of the contders with all those top humans.

Anyone else and the list is too full, probably can split the list in 2 already(realistic nc contders, and teams aiming for a deep run)

Hopefully everyone can have a fun conf time(USA South leading the way of the conferences!)

Nice work the0nlyis!

What? No Shenandoah in your final 4 predictions??
9/8/2015 10:23 PM
This is good stuff glad to have you here.
9/9/2015 3:32 PM
Thanks for the kind words the0nlyis.  You do a great job with this piece and have done a great job and La Grange

I hope to actually make this list one day lol

TJ and his zone knocking off the #1.  This time it's for real anymore losses by Menlo would be surprising(maybe if i stop saying this they will stop losing games)

In the meantime there is a new #1 :P  How did you guys all suck so much to let me grab the top spot :P

Wisconsin Stout just had a statement game with the win over Stevens Point
Colorado too with a great win of Cal Tech
As well as Centre with a big win over Dallas and claiming the #1 rpi

And a new number 1 as I couldn't buy a free throw to save my life(14-28) in a 3 point game

SUNYAC has taken the top conference rpi spot as well

Number 1 falls again, this time Centre against an Ozarks team I had pointed out earlier as having high expectations.  Very high chance we see another #1 after the pm games as well as La Grange has another tough game against NCWC
9/14/2015 2:41 AM
And in unsurprising news #1 falls yet again.  Menlo is back up to #1, now hoping to avoid the upset blues as the #1 team.

Here comes the NT some interesting potential matchups.

Ferrum really suffers from not having a scheduled non-conf as they really are a top 3/4 team, amazing recruiting by irrev0cable and coaching by tyber.

Yeshiva is interesting haven't played a human since non-conf and very lucky the conf sims were pretty good as a whole this year and keep that top 10 rpi/sos.

I think after the 3 seeds the talent drop is huge, theres only 1 maybe 2 teams that are real threats to go deep and don't just have nice brackets.

Anyways HERE is the bracket.

I think Ferrum and Menlo will knock off the 2 Wisconsin teams.

Greensboro seems to have the easiest path, I also think Union knocks off Yeshiva early as the biggest upset.

Centre gets taken to overtime by Cal Tech in the E8
