um, how can i win more than 85-7 with 2 second round appearances? i looked it up when i had my rant, there are very few coaches that did what i did from a d- prestige, thr only coach was thewizard when he had his final four run his 4th season from d- not even top level coaches have done what i did, until you start looking at coaches that started at C- at much better schools.
here is my rant to cs:
Bistiza probably the best coach to not win a NC, Youngstown State from a D prestige still has not won a NT game starting 61 now 84.
jbasnight has one of the best programs in histroy with syracuse and his New Mexico team from a D prestige has yet to advance past the 1st round in 10 seasons
chapelhillne is easily one of the best coaches right now and his Utah from a C prestige has yet to make it past the first round
psmith17 another great coach has made the 2nd round once from a C- Air Force and has only 1 other NT bid in his 9 seasons.
tarvolon is one of the greatest coaches to play his New Mexico C- team has 1 1st round appearance in 5 seasons.
metsmax is an elite D1 coach and his grambling state from a D+ has 1 2nd round appearance 4 seasons apart from any other NT bid.
Aromano one of the best D1 coaches took D San Fran to the 2nd round in his 3rd season and didn't make the 2nd round again until 6th season while having a good low end D1 conference.
umpikes helped build the SL in Allen and took D+ Mercer took 7 seasons to make the 2nd round before reaching it again in the 8th and a S16 in the 9th season
tianyi is one of the greatest coaches ever and his valp squad took 7 seasons to make the 2nd round(and again in the 8th season) from a D- prestige
tarvolon's oral roberts, darnocc at campbell, cornfused @ Texas Southern, bbunch Colorado St, xlixer @ maine, tarvolon @ yale
more examples of elite (if not hof) coaches that couldn't match what I did with Yale with most of those programs beign higher baseline and better conferences, and yet I'm "punished" because I didn't have the luxury of finding the game earlier and haven't played long enough where I already have one of the best D- rebuilds?
explain to me how staying at yale makes me a better coach?
sure we can look at my Lafayette squad and it doesn't show as good a resume, look at the past rosters it's very talented consistently, i cant coach man or zone and it has killed me and i took a few seasons to learn how to schedule and now its not as big as a problem. and it makes sense i dont have the ability to move up.
id love too seee why you think its more beneficial to stay at these lower prestige schools than to move up?
I am trying to figure out what you are saying - that 85-7 you talk about - that is the three seasons from 107-109 I assume? At the end of that period you had 5 seasons of D1 under that id. 1 of them was a 5-22 1st rebuild season. Does it suck those count, I suppose, but that's the record you got that season, so how's it not supposed to count?
The Ivy now has 6 humans it looks like. How many were human during that run? Either way, 2 16-0s and a 15-1 conference run are nice, yeah, but its still only 3 seasons.
After that period you went 16-11 the next season and missed both tourneys...then this past season you went to the 3rd rd of the PIT...after another 16-0, that still had you miss the NT, so the rest of the Ivy can't be boosting you much there...
So that's 7 D1 seasons total - 2 NT wins in 3 appearances, the last 3 seasons ago...yes, it's a good start, but I personally don't think it's outrageous you can't jump to a decent BCS with that resume. Sorry if that offends, it's not my intent...
