Why Simleague doesn't make sense Topic

How does 32 SB 6 CS, 87 Speed = D+ range in the field. Smells like such bullshit.

Range has nothing to do with speed or stolen bases. Instead, it's based on plays they were involved in per game. I'm sure someone can pull up some knowledge base articles with a more detailed explanation.

Sounds like more BS ! 86 Tim Raines 91 speed C- range. Range should be the amount of ground you can cover in the field. In HBD the faster my guy is the better the range. In simleague its just a bunch of Bullshit!!!

Lou Brock's speed never helped him judge or get a good jump on a ball hit his way. His range numbers were poor throughout his career. Instinct can't be taught.

You know damn well that Raines should get to any ball, whether he catches it or not should be a reflection of his fielding grade. All he should have to do is make 1 play with exceptional range to prove his range. He should be a C- / A- at worst.

George Burns speed less than 60 gets to more balls than Raines. What an absolute joke.

1888 Myron Allen speed = 39 = B+ range. Laughable

Allen is getting a jump on the ball before it leaves the pitchers hand.

These kinds of stats play out in larger parks? Crazy.

Raines played mostly left field. Perhaps the limited number of chances affected his range numbers...his average range number based on 21 seasons playing left field was 2.11

Or perhaps Whatif doesn't really know how to compute range.

this guy is pulling your leg...come on.

Bo Jacksons range 1986 = D-, 1987 = D-, 1988 = C-, 1989 = C, 1990 = B

Watch the first catch from this 1989 Video !

There are lies...Damn lies....then statistics.

I do not believe fielding can ever be judged by stats. Yet that is how WIS does it. As I've always said, WIS is a great game with a strong baseball flavor. But it does a poor job as a simulator.
