The Old "Coaches Corner" Worked Better... Topic

Hey guys,
Quick note... I think the old "Coaches Corners" worked better. I liked the old 1-step ability to write stuff in your own conference (now it takes an extra step) or any other conference (now it takes 3 other steps).

Also, for whatever reason, it was easier to read below the standings, and when it was black text on white.

i agree.

I agree also. I brought it up during the beta, and the response was something along the lines of, "there was no why standing and chat were ever connected". But It's clear to me that it was much more convenient, and don't know if there is any advantage to having them separate.

it was more convenient and encouraged more conversations - but it is low on my list of things I wish were better in 3.0

Crickets have taken over five out of the six Worlds I am in! The other world we are old farts, and we are still "chatting!

I agree! Much easier to exchange witty banter with you under the old format.

Didn't we used to have to go to standings first anyway? I don't remember being able to type anything from the main office screen before, either. So that would be the same number of steps (clicks anyway) or am I forgetting something? And if someone has posted an inter-conference message, you can still click on the conference to go directly to the other conference chat page.

Might be an extra step to *start* an inter-conference chat from what it used to take.

It's even more annoying on mobile... actually i think the entire site is annoying on mobile but that's just me.

This was brought up in beta. selbe said it never made sense to him why the coaches corner was located where it was, hence the move. If I remember correctly, the few people who chimed in all favored the old format but it was not enough noise to make selbe change his mind.

So in 2.0 if you go to your Standings page, you could start typing below.
In 3.0, when you get to the Standings page, you then have to click on "View All Chat" to get to the writing box.

Also, in 2.0, if i was on the Standings page for my conference (say Big East), i could click on say "Conf-USA" and their standings and writing box would be there and i could type away.
However, in 3.0, from my Standings page, if i click on Conf-USA standings and want to comment on ppk700's champion ECU team, i have to first click on "Conference Chat", then "View All Chat", which takes me to my Big East coaches corner, and then click on "C-USA" before being able to write... plus as i write, i can't see the C-USA Standings in order to form witty comments.

Anyway, no biggie, but it's a couple of extra pain in the arse steps for no real good reason.

To me anyway, from each Standings page we should have the writing box ready to go. We shouldn't have the second task of "View Chat" to allow writing.

Everything about 3.0 just feels like extra clicks for no reason.

I liked the old location much better as well.

Now you can see the last few chats from the default office screen. Instead of going to standings, just click on view full chat. From there, you can also select any conference you want. I was mistaken, it's exactly the same number of clicks as before, even for trying to find another conference chat. The only issue here is that it's not in the same place it was before. Now it's more intuitive.

I liked it on the standings page and it has taken a lot of cross conference banter out because you can't just click on standings and see the conversation for other conferences, you have to click chat and then click on each conference to see if there is chatter, seems like they should be able to correct this easily.
