Coachin' is more important than in 2.0, you need to game plan, your team has the tools.

I wish I were still in Iba. Without knowing what the other teams look like, I just can't say. Let's hope so.

I'd say it's unlikely. You have some major flaws that you'll have to overcome. Overall your athleticism is pretty low for a D2 FB/Press FF team.

And then your biggest problem is probably your bigs. You are low on Reb to begin with but your bigs also have poor ST - ESPECIALLY for FB/Press. You had a guy with 27 rebounding playing C for some minutes in your last game. That's not good. Going uptempo is only going to make this worse. You do have good Reb at the guard position so that might help offset it.

Overall, it's a solid team and you have some really good pieces but maybe not quite FF.

By definition, making a final four is always unlikely. In a game with many dozens of competitors - presumably a few handfuls of whom will know what they’re doing - you really can’t have a team head and shoulders far enough ahead to say winning 4 tournament games in a row is “likely”.

You’ll have a good shot, certainly better than most, to make a final four run. Ideally, you’d have a little higher team athleticism and rebounding, but you can play/coach around that, you have other strengths. Your stamina is fine, as long as you’ve managed your depth chart to account for the positions that could get thin.

Good luck.

Thanks benis. I went more with SP with this team for FB. As far as bigs, I didn't worry about ST, I know reb is low, but I going 3 deep at each big position with a SF playing there. I'm hoping my guards reb offsets that and I can out score and foul out other teams. I know I got flaws, but I've seen worse teams win. So here is to hope. Lol

Thanks shoe. I managed my Depth chart going 4 deep in every position except PF and C, I go 3 deep there. I hope i can coach around the low reb in bigs with guards getting some. My def and reb will grow by end of season. We shall see.

Yeah the Speed is very nice and I love a fast team with FB/Press. I think ST is very underrated by most people and it's just so important when playing with FB/Press.

You're right on how you will win. Force turnovers and score. You do have solid LP and Per numbers.

You have less options coaching fb/press, your recruiting has more impact than in any other sets, but I like your chances. IBA is tough and there are plenty of solid coaches to get by.

To maximize the effectiveness of your thin front court, I would suggest the following frontcourt rotation:

C - King, Valenzuela, Costa, Lyon
PF - Hice, Lyon, Costa, Shepherd
SF - Lyon, Shepherd, Fletcher, Gonzalez

I don’t know what your depth chart looks like exactly, but basically, I’d be looking to get Lyon minutes at PF and/or C (while keeping his starting spot). Since his stamina is considerably better than Hice (who is better suited to PF than C on your squad), setting up your depth chart this way should normally have Lyon moving over to the 4 at the 1st substitution, with Shepherd coming in at SF. You have better depth at guard, so when they’re on the floor together and you’re playing small, I’d rather have Lyon at PF or C and Shepherd at SF.

Obviously, feel free to ignore the unsolicited advice. But if you do find yourself having trouble keeping fresh, effective bigs in the game, using Lyon up there may help.

How about this team? Will I make MY first Final Four?

I know I have two glaring weaknesses. But I think I can get there finally!
6/16/2018 1:07 PM
I would say both teams should be able to make sweet 16 if they know how to coach.

Since first has been covered, I'll move on to what is lacking with Topdgoggs team. Only 4 bigs will likely hurt, especially with their lack of stamina. Ath/def is good, but perhaps not good enough to rank up among the top 4. IQ needs to be a bit higher as well.
6/16/2018 3:45 PM
At first I thought you were gonna have to play a big at SF, but then I saw you only have 4. The 5th starter is gonna be a weak spot. That's a ridiculously good PG for d2 though.
6/16/2018 3:48 PM
Why would he need to play a big at SF? Heck, I usually just plug a guard in the 3 spot, and it works fine if you are strong in other areas.
6/16/2018 3:51 PM
I've never had 5 bigs on any team. And I've done well. I realize they have bad stamina tho. I feel like my tweeners are interchangeable from 3-5 (Denson and Cannon).

My two flaws that i see that are glaring are my LP and lack of depth. I didn't really see 4 bigs as an issue.

(going forward tho, my freshman SF is actually a big in my eyes. He's green in ATH REB DEF and LP.... actually PER too. I'm hoping he turns into a PF more than a SF.)
