My very good friend, Brian Doane, aka The__Kid, lost his life to cancer last week. I know he has had some run ins with people on this site in the past, but he was a genuinely good guy whose family meant the world to him. He was very proud of his daughters, and was there for me when I needed him most. He will be greatly missed.

I'll be playing out his teams until his credits run out. It was his dream to win a NT, and I will do my best to do that in his memory.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear this. It's also shocking to read this for me personally. My father passed away on that same exact day, from a heart attack. Tough times in my family at the moment as well.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts. It was his third bout with a variety pack of cancer so we knew it was coming, but it's still hard. He was one of my first friends on this site and I had been playing fantasy games of some sort with him for over 18 years.

Thanks. I wanted this thread to stay focused on your friend. I just wanted to share with you that I can relate to your tough times. I don't know how many credits his account has, or how close he is to a title, but if you get within a season and run out of credits, I'll donate a season in some manner (unless you feel like that taints the mission).

Damn, truly sorry for your loss. That scares the hell out of me since I am in my early forties.
