i offered a ton of minutes to an ineligible who later gained eligibility. How much of a recruiting hit will I take if I reduce his promised minutes?

I think it is pretty substantial, though it may depend on the player. It could make you go back to very low, but I am not 100% positive about this.

Every recruit is different. I've tried this a lot. I had a really weird situation one time.

I am D2, I was pushing really hard to sign a C that was an early signer, and a D1 human came in the picture. I offered the start and 25 before recruiting ended. The D1 stayed at moderate with an offer. And I was capped at moderate with an offer (although I was actually the very high). Then it went to break.

before RS2 started up, I had made the decision I didn't want to fulfill a 25 minute promise to that C, and I would just take a less talented C that I didn't have promises on. So when RS2 started, I dropped the promised minutes all the way down to 10 min, and offered no other effort. I assumed I'd get destroyed in the battle but decided to let it play out anyways. I beat the D1 in a 52/48 battle. With only AP, a start, and the kicker was the reduction of promised minutes down to 10. I never offered any visits at all. Blew my mind.

Obviously the D1 either forget RS2 started that day, or decided he didn't want the recruit a lot. But I still thought I'd be completely eliminated removing that many minutes. Here is the recruit.....

On the other side of the story, I've been completely removed from a recruits considering list by doing this same thing

Its a essential mistake and the red light will pop up on your team.

How did your situation play out? What did you decide to do? Feel free to wait until a better time to respond to this. If recruiting is still going, don't give away info that could be used against you.

the 2nd session hasn't started yet. With 70 stamina, I could set him to getting tired or tired. However I run the risk of injury, falling short on the promise and/or losing him to a transfer. My recruiting class is a bit light so I'm leaning towards keeping my promise in tact but would drop it down to 20 if it didn't hurt my chances.

Hardly anyone pays any attention to him any more when he posts under his original screen name, so he tries fake Wardo.

So Spud, are you admitting to being the fake wardo? Or are you confessing that you know who it is?

Update: Second session started today. Heading into today, I was very high, human coach at high. I didn't adjust the minutes, he signed in the first cycle. The human coach went up to very high, was 54% but I edged him in the battle (46%). Not sure if reducing minutes would have hurt me, but it wouldn't have helped, so it was the right call to get him signed. The biggest challenge will be getting a 70 stamina 25 minutes a game.

Won’t be too much of an issue, outside of the possibility of foul trouble (especially early in the season). Setting him to 24-28 using target minutes will get you there pretty simply. If you slow down, he probably won’t even show fatigue effects, unless you press, in which case they might show up in the pbp occasionally.

If you’re not keen to using target minutes, just set him to getting tired against sim or weak opponents, fairly fresh against tougher opponents. If he does have some early season foul trouble and is sitting below 23 mpg after say the first 5 games, you can bump him back to tired, especially against weaker opponents. If you get past the first 16 games or so with no complaints, you should be able to move him to fresh at the back end of your conference schedule.

Don’t worry about injuries. Even if he’s playing tired every game, it’s not increasing his chances for injury.

I don't know, shoe. I am not a master of 25 minute promises. I've never offered one and signed that player. But I have a hard time getting freshman 20 minutes. 70 ST isn't terrible but it's not 80+ either.

Do we know the sets? Is this press?

With a couple clicks, you can see he doesn’t play FB or press, so unless it’s referring an alt ID, he’ll be fine.

I give and fill 25 minutes promises all the time. *If he plays slowdown* getting to 25 with target minutes won’t be a problem, and like I said, he’ll rarely see the effects in the pbp. I suppose if the other team is going uptempo and playing press, but otherwise rarely. If he doesn’t play slowdown, he’ll see effects, but still shouldn’t have a problem getting to the target. The biggest obstacle is early season foul trouble. Get a guy fouling out or in foul trouble after 12 minutes too many times in the first dozen games, and it could require some adjustments. Even then, I don’t see that with guys at 70 stamina, it’s typically the guys who are starting around 60 or below.

"With just a couple clicks" hahaha. No **** sherlock! I just didn't do the leg work.

But as far as the 25 minutes, of course you could using target minutes. I thought you were saying you could with just using fatigue. That is what I was unsure of. I run 12 players more often than not. And it's rare that ANY of my 12 get 25 minutes. My starters are usually in the 23 range with backups in the 15 or 16 range. So I figured it would be difficult for a low IQ freshman with 70 ST to get 25 when I have A+ seniors with 90 ST that don't get 25 minutes at times.
