The 1979 season was the last league played LIVE before that got shut down at the end of 2017. The league has been dormant since then but I am now bringing it back. One more owner needed and we can start the draft.
If you want something new, this is the league for you. Goes backwards in time, plus it rewards smart drafting and careful roster management. Zero incentive to tank and you can be competitive almost every year if you play it right.
Rules are as follows:
League Format: Alternate WIS Format E (162 games, 16 teams, NL:4/4/0, AL:4/4/0, balanced, interleague)
Keepers: 15 keepers plus IR, due by game 100.
Draft order: Determined by salary of 15 keepers and IR players (50% of value of next active season salary)
AAA: 6/2 below average
Injuries: On
DH: Off
Waiver Wire: Off
Trades: Yes, deadline is game 100, draft picks can only be traded one season in advance. Also, each team must have a minimum of 22 real MLB players at all times. Otherwise, non-contending teams would be dumping all 10 non-keepers for pennies on the dollar.
Stadium: Must use a stadium active in that MLB season. When a stadium becomes obsolete, you can relocate to any available stadium. Returning owners are allowed to change stadiums one time (other than when a stadium becomes obsolete).
Available Roster (as of 1979):
St. Louis (can move to Boston, Toronto, Seattle, Montreal, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Houston, San Diego, Philadelphia, or Anaheim if you would like)
