Quick Drafts - 1940's - Completed Topic

Six Decade Draft Theme
This is a simple theme. When you sign up, select which decade you want to select your roster from. The choices are: 1900's, 1910's, 1920's, 1930's, 1940's or 1950's. The decade is defined as xxx0 thru xxx9. There will 4 owners per decade and those four owners will hold their own draft to select their players. The first round's draft order will be randomly determined. In order to offset the luck involved with getting the top pick (and often the most expensive player), each successive round will be based on reverse order of cumulative team salary. That means you need to choose which year of the player you are using at the time you draft him. On each pick, you should list the player, the year, his salary and your cumulative team salary so the next round's draft order can easily be determined. (I will not be administering each draft - somebody from your draft group should post the order of the next round once it's determined). Also, once a player is drafted, all seasons of that player are off the board.

This will be a 26-round draft*, as you will also draft your ballpark at some point during the draft. Four unique ballparks (must be from that decade) will be selected (parks from the same franchise, with the same dimensions and same ratings but with different names are considered the same ballpark). For purposes of salary calculation, all ballparks are $2 million.

1. After the draft is over, can we switch the season of our player as long as the switch is to a lower salary?
Yes - I will allow this. Only if the salary is lower.

2. Not likely to occur, but who drafts first if two teams have the identical cumulative salary at the start of a round?
Whichever team drafted later in the previous round would draft earlier in the current round.

I will ask a non-participant to randomize the round 1 draft order. Once he posts it here, the draft can begin.

When selecting your player, please post the player, the season, his salary and your team's cumulative salary after each pick. At the end of each round, please post the draft order for the next round. Remember to site-mail the next person up to keep things moving.
