5 seasons at DIII, last 3 strong. 1 ok season at DII (66 RPI). DI target school is a mid-major and am not qualified.

Could take a low-end DI job and look to move to the mid-major OR stay at DII until qualified. Either of these likely to happen sooner/take longer? Not in love w current DII squad.

recommend you stick with your D2 squad, particularly if you have a path to make the tournament.

If you take a look at my Phelan and Wooden Careers this can give you an idea of what it takes to get to a mid major/low prestige power 5 team.

Agree that it would likely be better to stay at D2 for a couple more seasons.

What team are you looking at? Mid majors can vary on baseline so if you're going for a B prestige baseline, it could take a bit.

Could go the AB tactic and bounce to some already built up D2 schools to poach some easy tourney wins. CSU chino is available and look like they could win a tourney game or two next season so just hop to them if you're trying to get to D1 ASAP.

btw, I just finished up my 4th season at D2 in Rupp and went Elite 8, S16, 2nd rd and E8 and I was only qualified for D prestige teams and wasn't even qualified for C baseline schools.

I didn't realize you played a lot of seasons awhile back - which I'm pretty much still counts towards your resume. I still think you should stay at D1, but that certainly will make the wait shorter.

Thanks. You mean stay at DII--which I've only been at for one season on this current go-round?

Ah yes. That's what I mean. Stay at D2 but I'd also hop to another school that is already ready to win to reduce your time spent at D2.

What level of mid-major are you targeting? If it's a C baseline (or below) school, I'd stay at DII a few more seasons and make the jump then. If it's a B baseline mid-major (your Marquette/Xavier/DePaul/Gonzaga's of the world), move to low DI and make some NTs there.

Long Beach State, currently a D+.

Long Beach State is a low major and D baseline. They're also losing a TON so they'll likely be terrible next season and will drop down to a D. I think you'll be qualified next season.

Thanks. Have decided to stick with current DII team another season and hope we're qualified for Long Beach next season. One more question: Is it safe to rescind a scholarship in current recruiting period without this damaging my move to DI? This was one of my recruits, an ineligible.

I have Long Beach and the BigWest @ D+ baselines.
Not a huge difference as current prestige grades vary by world, but there are 120 schools from the conferences with D baseline below them.

Yeah, I thought there was a loose forum consensus that Big West schools are a D+ or C-.

That master list that floats around the forums is a great reference point, but isn't 100% verified.

Yeh no way in hell Big West is D. I would lean towards C- over D+ from my experience but I also trust oldwarrior here.

No way big west is C-. All the teams are D prestige baseline, I'm pretty sure. I was at NMSU in Big West and it sure looked like it's a low major D baseline conf.

Big west is on same level as SL, big South, etc.
