I can’t believe the polling was that bad. I don’t even know how you handle policy decisions and public opinions if polling is so ****** in America now.

Tried to tell all of you that, but you insisted on being close-minded and stubborn, because you know it all.

Looks like Biden gets exactly 270. Sure hope the next 4 years are less hate-filled and more open to listening/compromise than the last 4.

Looks like Republicans are going to get the Senate. How open to compromise do you think they will be?

Mitch McConnell under fire for saying top priority is making Obama one-term president

by James R. Carroll
Louisville Courier-Journal
October 26, 2010

WASHINGTON — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell came under sharp attack from the White House and Democrats Tuesday for saying that his top priority in the next Congress is to ensure that President Barack Obama serves only one term.

The Kentucky Republican made the statement during an interview with National Journal. But it's a variation on a line he has been using as he has stumped the country on behalf of Republican candidates in advance of the Nov. 2 midterm election.

"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president," he said in the interview.

"Looks like Biden gets exactly 270. Sure hope the next 4 years are less hate-filled and more open to listening/compromise than the last 4."

It isn't over yet for sure. BUT, assuming Biden squeaks out the win.............. let me echo your comment BUT with one major correction.

"Looks like Biden gets exactly 270. Sure hope the next 4 years are less hate-filled and more open to listening/compromise than the last 12."

I'll also right from the gitgo, declare for all you voters on BOTH sides of the divide.............. SHOULD your fears and predictions concerning Joe Biden's Governance be (as many have predicted) anywhere NEAR as divisive, bereft of ability, leadership-less, corrupt, or overtly Socialistic (taking away gun rights, etc) I will be right with you in Protesting and working for Biden's ouster in 2024. Just as I did in 2020 to back my beliefs about Trump.

I have NO Party other than the United States of America and It's Health and Welfare! (Long term!)
It's possible I could end up despising Biden as I do Trump.
I sincerely HOPE that that does NOT occur.

Biden has now received more votes for president than any other candidate in U.S. history

Former Vice President Joe Biden has now received more votes for president than any other candidate in U.S. election history, officially surpassing former President Barack Obama's 2008 popular vote numbers around 8 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

The news follows reports on Tuesday night that the 2020 election was shaping up to have the highest voter turnout since 1908, when 65 percent of eligible Americans voted, The New York Times reports. The country was on track for around 160 million votes this year, which would put the eligible turnout rate at around 67 percent.

I mean, this is nice and all, but it's worth noting that by the time all votes are counted Trump will almost certainly have received the 2nd most votes for president of any candidate in US history.

I know many feel the popular vote should be how we choose a winner. The issue many of us have with that is large metro areas would dictate to the rest of the country. Is not an unfair argument from either side. Folks in rural areas would never have a say. I take issue with that. Our country does not flourish without citizens living and working outside of large industrial cities.

There are a lot of votes still to count. I agree it could go 270-268 for Biden...

This has always been the dumbest take of all takes.

How would rural voters not have a say? Would their vote not count the same as urban voters? What does "have a say" mean to you?

RIGHT NOW, many rural voters don't have a say. I live in (semi) rural Kansas. Does my vote for President matter? What about a vote in 80% of the other states in the country? Why would a President ever cater to the interests of the people who live where I live?

Sorry, but your argument has zero logical validity. When you say "rural voters have no say," you mean Republicans would stop winning national elections because their ideas are deeply unpopular with the majority of American voters.

By the way, the electoral college has favored Democrats in the past. I don't care who it favors. A vote is a vote. I want my vote for President to actually mean something. I want every voter to be counted equally. Your voice shouldn't be diminished just because of where you live.

FWIW, ABC has retracted its projection of Arizona going to Biden. Trump folks say he may have enough remaining votes to win by 20-30k.

There are some accusations of inconsistencies in the count in Wisconsin. Either side may make a legitimate claim to request a review. I'm not going to throw rocks. Just passing it along.
