rule two i hate. let em all play 45' in, let em all play 90' out

let strategy dictate

rule three they have a pitch clock now in the Pac 12 but umps don't enforce it
3/13/2021 7:09 PM
rule four i hate

pickoff attempts are part of Action On The Base Paths

eventually someone throws the ball away

and every throw adds to arm wear

Wouldn’t have to deal with all these rule experiments if Manfred (ManFRAUD) was just honest about changing the baseballs in the 2017 postseason and on. These slick baseballs with smaller seams and more bounce resulting in WAY more homeruns. Blake Snell is already noting how much bigger the seasons are this year in Spring Training and how the ball seems to not carry as much. We could see an offensive environment relative to the 2014-15 seasons. That would encourage more action on the basepaths without the bigger bases or the two pickoffs rule.

While reading this I had a vision of Earl Weaver, Lou Piniella, Billy Martin, et al kicking dirt on a robot umpire...

3/13/2021 8:07 PM
communist hackers will jam it

vendors will sell beer in the interim

clowns will dance

girls will clown

you will get to catch a ball of T-shirt from a potato cannon

old men will fall asleep

dreaming of action on the basepaths

Won't there still be a human ump behind the plate just in case of malfunctions and other action around the plate, just like when the robot was originally rolled out in the minors all-star game a couple years ago ?

Yes, but on Tuesdays and Fridays the human ump must be female. On Sundays, Tuesdays, Saturdays, the human ump must have majority non-Caucasian DNA, every other Thursday, the human ump must be a biological male identifying as female, or female alternating as male, without commensurate surgeries, alternating, and on one Saturday per month, the human ump must be surgically altered, from one to the other, alternating. Additionally, on the third Wednesday of every month, the human ump must identify as non-human.

Beginning in 2050, rules must allow non-human umpires to identify as human (or perhaps another species).
