I have been playing this game for several years. Every season I scourer the state of Indiana looking for players from my hometown. In one of my first few season I got a guy as a walk on from my home town. Very cool but the kid never left the bench. There have been several over the seasons that were from my hometown but too far out of my league to recruit. This season there is a guy from my hometown that is worth recruiting and I have a legit shot at getting. Anybody else look for players from their hometowns?

Absolutely. I'm from a small Cape Cod, MA town so it makes it twice as cool to find the one guy every few seasons from there. Even if they're not good enough or they're out of my league I'll always follow their careers. In general I'm always looking for players close to home, it personally makes me more interested in the game.

I'm from a super small town of 500. Once in awhile I'll look, but have never seen anyone come up from my high school on hoops dynasty. I did get one on gridiron dynasty though.

I am from Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from North High School. I have only noticed 2 players from there while recruiting and both were pretty bad recruits so I passed on them. But, yes, I always check. Go Cougs!

I'm from Oxnard CA and recruit in California. Always have a place for a good player from the 805! I'm recruiting someone now from our old rival school, but I'm going to try to redshirt him lol.

I'm from suburban Memphis, so I've seen my town a few times. But my favorite is when a recruit shows from an all-girls high school, which isn't entirely uncommon on here.

I'm from suburban New Jersey and will occasionally check as well. I'll also look for local recruits from my alma mater's town, a D3 school in Westchester County, NY who joined D3 too late to make the HD cut.

But I'm also at the point where I've spent so much time coaching DePauw in Greencastle, Indiana that I have an affinity for local talent whenever I can reasonably sign them.

I once signed the overall #2 recruit and he attended the New York City School of Ballet.
Must of had a decent hoops program to be so highly rated.

Lots of boxers from that area, and train in that area. Are you aware of that? Know any?

I have seen some recruits from my hometown that are from the local school that is set aside for pregnant women and kids that can't attend a regular high school.

Yes, I do recruit my Hometown and also the Town's that I have lived in over the years.

I've not only seen players from my hometown in PA (where I grew up), but I believe I've seen at least one from my high school.

Funny thing is that my high school merged with another high school maybe 10-15 years ago and changed it's name. And then "my" school's campus (which was the old name) closed.

I've also seen players from the high school where I live here in CT. When my boys went there, I would pretend the recruits I saw were classmates of my kids, and that I even coached some of them in Little League.

I've never seen anyone from my small town HS in Texas, but I have recruited a player from Gurnee, IL where I lived as a child. It's definitely fun to find recruits from places that you're familiar with.

Once I get to know the game better I'll probably scout Canadian kids every year. Kinda sucks though it just says 'Canada'. Canada is a big place!
