The Rules

* · 52 Million Dollar Cap
* · No clones
* · No waiver wire
* · Serpentine draft. 1 player per round in rounds 1-5, 2 players in round 6.


Draft Order

The returning GMs that did not make the playoffs will be in a NBA-style draft lottery. The other returning GMs will then be placed behind them in order of playoff finish(with regular season record the tiebreaker). New GMs will be placed behind them in order of who joined first.

GMs will have the option to request their spot in the draft order by indicating closer to 1/24/ when they sign up. You may change your choice up until the final draft order is set. GMs that did not indicate where they want to draft will be given whatever spots are left.

If you choose closer to 24 you will not be in the draft lottery. For the draft lottery, the commissioner will break ties (for the ping pong balls) by random.org. If the Commissioner's team is involved Commissioner will take the worse draft pick.

24 hour draft rule in Round 1. Commissioner will pick a player if a GM does not draft in 24 hours so the draft can proceed (No skips). After Round 1 players may be skipped but the Commissioner has discretion in selecting a player for the team.


Divisions

Divisions will NOT be random. They will be drafted by the division winners from last season. The division draft will take place immediately after the player draft ends, while we wait for the league to fill.

I farmed out the lottery to a third party, who conducted the lottery using only records from last season. He did not know the names of any managers.

Two of the division winners did not return, so we will sort that out during the draft.

longtallbrad won season LXXIV, so he will gladly write some fabulous evals.

If we're using 21-22 players, shouldn't we wait for them to come out before drafting? I think starting the draft before they're released, yet allowing them to be drafted, doesn't make sense. Are we supposed to use outside sources for their stats & guess their D and position rating? I think if we start the draft now, they shouldn't be allowed.

off the top of my head, I can only think of one or two guys who will likely take big leaps over previous seasons ADP - none of whom I would imagine taking in the first round, and of the ones I would take in the first round Lebron, for instance, it would probably be a mistake to use his 21-22 season in this league

admin has gotten better about posting new seasons (eg we won't have to wait until October unlike some previous cases).

A) The vast majority of us want to use them.
B) Based on past history, they will be released before we are done drafting.
C) C is the third letter of the alphabet.
D) It isn’t that hard to figure out that Nikola Jokic is going to be really good.
E) If anyone doesn’t want to draft them they don’t have to draft them. There are plenty of good players available.
