Hello Everyone, thinking about potential future iterations of this league. What type of changes would you like to make that would keep you interested? We've had five proposals thrown out there so far. Which one do you like? What other options would you propose?
Option 1: Raise the pitchers salaries to $500,000. This would enable the pitchers to last a little longer, while still giving hitters a mega-advantage. This also might enable some pitching strategy, rather than the current strategy of "put them out there and try to stay out of the way of the line drives."
Option 2: Raise pitcher salaries to $1M. This would enable some pitching strategy to exist. Would you want some quality but low innings? Or is it all about innings?
Option 3: Allocate $10M for pitching. It's still mostly terrible pitching, but at least you could theoretically put a staff together. So there would be some strategy involved in putting the actual team together with a home field that fits.
Option 4: Outfielders only. In wondering how to score more runs, an idea was thrown out that if a team had to play guys out of position, a ton of errors would be made, and each error is another plate appearance. Hence, more opportunities to score. Babe Ruth at catcher?
Option 5: Flip it. $200k hitters and use the rest of your money on pitching. Would anyone hit over .100? Would anyone hit 10 HR?
What are your ideas? What would be interesting, fun, challenging? All while still remaining at least somewhat ridiculous.
