Season over Season Injury Recovery Topic

So I have a player who got a major injury that carried over into the offseason. The world is rolling now, and the player has 111 games left on the DL. I've read that the offseason is 110 games, so will he be DL eligible when the world rolls, or is 111/110 a slight difference that will get eaten by rollover?

If he will be eligible, when do I have to put him on the DL, as soon as budgets are set, or does such injury recovery not start until spring training games? He only has had one injury recovery cycle so far, and he is pretty far from his original ratings, so I'd like to leave him on the 60 day for another cycle or two. Thanks.

IF you rollover and he still has the injury designation you can add him as soon as moves are allowed (sometime during budget set day).

It'd be good to follow-up and let us know how many days he has left of his injury once you roll

Thanks, yes, that's my plan. Do you know when the games towsrd recovery start counting down? Does it not start until spring training games, or is it earlier? If he has one game left, I will have to put him on the dl that first cycle to be sure, which is the plan anyway, just adds a stress element.

recovery starts the day after budgets

Nope, won't work. I've been in the exact same situation. At roll, he'll have 1 day left until recovery, as soon as budgets are available, that day passes and you can't get him on the DL in time.

Always remember -- Room 112 is where the players dwell. If the player has less than 112 days until recovery, he won't be eligible for the DL after roll.

GOD, that's arbitrary. If the player had gotten injured ONE game later, you could 60-day him and get two or maybe even three extra recoveries (20M Medical always).

Yep. I've been preaching for years now that injury recovery is THE most broken thing in the game.

Ah dang, yeah he has one game left to recovery after the roll. System is probably geared to give injury days timed with the roll. So you are sure tlowster, you set budgets, they become available for roster moves, and that game will be gone with the calendar click?

Hey come to Rickey, we just rolled, we only have 4 openings, lots of good coaches, very competitive across the board last season.

You can perform some roster moves prior to budgets setting. It's about halfway through or maybe 6 to 12 hours before set time (3am EST).

I don't know for sure cause I've never attempted the DL thing like this, but seems like if you got the "add DL" move PRIOR to budgets setting it would be before the "1 day left" gets moved to 0...

I never tried to stay up late to see if you can sneak him in before the 3am eastern cycle, but I know that I've gotten up at 6am eastern time and and the opportunity was gone already.

Thanks bj, do you remember what roster moves you were able to do during that time?

I don't know of any roster moves I wasn't able to make once that window opens. That's why I assume the DL add would also be allowed.

I've released, promoted, demoted, added to 40, etc in that window some # of hours before the 3am budget lock cycle. I'm just not sure exactly how long before 3am that window opens.

My best recollection is about 12 hours prior. Just keep your eyes open and at some point before budgets lock the roster move window does open.

Oh thanks bruce, I had somehow registered that it was bj responding here. I appreciate it, will report back.

What turned out to be the answer on this one? Were you able to add him to the DL before the 3am eastern cutoff?
