The Albatross Draft

Rules:

1. No clones, rookies, or waiver wire. $48M Cap.

2. Each user is responsible for drafting and managing a team that remains in compliance with the league rules.

3. 3 exclusive drafted players, plus 9 non-exclusive undrafted players. The 3 exclusive drafted players must be from the Albatross list below. The 9 non-exclusive undrafted players may be any player not selected in the draft. Each user must use their drafted players. If an albatross has more than one available season from the given year, the highest salary version of the player must be used.

4. Draft Sequence: ABB.

5. Draft order: Draft lottery will use the New York Lottery. Each user will be given a time slot. The first three numbers drawn during that time slot will be your score. Lowest score will be number 1 and so on. Ties will be broken by whoever has the lowest 4th number.

6. A posted pick is FINAL. No changing picks after a selection is posted. If an ineligible selection is made, the draft will continue on and the user who made the selection will have to make another pick. Other users do not have to wait for the makeup pick to be made.

7. During the draft, site mail the next 2 users on the schedule after making your pick, or state that you cannot site mail and somebody will take care of it.

8. Draft will be on the clock. 24 hour rule in place.

9. Trades are allowed, but only for entire draft slots, not individual picks.

10. Divisions: Divisions will be random.

11. During the draft, please refrain from mentioning undrafted players.

12. Any playoff game where a typical "Best Player" plays more than 50% less minutes than their min/82 (exceptions to be made for foul trouble) will be considered a tank game. Users are not allowed to tank a playoff game.

"Best Players" are defined as the players any reasonable user would clearly play if they were trying to win.

13. The "Commissioner" may take control of any team refusing to comply with the league rules. A warning will be issued in the league forum and a sitemail, after which the user has 3 games to comply. All games in violation are 'losses'.

This looks awesome!! What a great idea. I love getting to use and see players that you don't normally see play.

I have a question about Albatross players who played for multiple teams in the season. I'm assuming we must use the highest minutes?

Yes

I think Beloud should pick the players. I’m not sure how to express that in a vote.

I too support the theme selector picking the players.

But we also have to respect the premise. Going with the albatross league and then picking players with 50 def, 58.4% ts%, 7.7 to% with very good rebounding and passing for their position at high usage is not really sticking within the terms of the premise.

And that is just one example among many.

Otherwise let's just change the theme to the beloud player pool league and do away with the cover.

I agree there's some guys that stand out, not sure where to draw the line. Haven't finished my prep, they guy Rob mentions yes. There's a few others. I was looking at some general $ per minute as a guide - but even that can be misleading.

I'm interested in seeing more modern players that haven't played many years, But they can't be too good, like Shai or Luka. Wemby or Chet? Sounds fun to me.

Well 1) that isn’t what this theme is, is it? And 2) we literally have a league that uses only the last two seasons in BOWIS.
