Plate Appearance fatigue will probably affect a few teams. The penalty isn't as severe as the pitching fatigue since there is no death spiral. This table shows the total plate appearances (all players are included). The team hitting stats is based on estimated weighted usage. Most 200K players aren't included unless those PA's were needed. Note that team stats for teams that are short in PA are overstated since their effectiveness will be affected by fatigue.

My defensive formula isn't perfect. I basically have a score for each position for range and fielding% (weighted by playing time). For example, an A/B+ fielder is assigned 8.5 points while a player at the same position with a defensive rating of C-/A is assigned 6 points. Range is weighted a bit higher than fielding%, and catcher's throwing arm has more weight than his range/fielding ratings. Sadly, my formula cannot differentiate from a normal A+ vs A+++ range guys, although the assumption is that if you are spending on A+ range, it's more likely to be an A+++ range, and that rating gets a bonus.

In a normal $100M league, a good team fielding score is in the low 50's and the average team is in the mid 40's. Obviously, with a lot more salary to spend, most people drafted a strong defense in this theme. Here are the defensive scores for the 160M league.

There is a high percentage of right handed pitching in this league, especially the starters. Having a bunch of switch hitters and lefty batters is an advantage vs having a right-handed heavy lineup. Again, based on my projected playing time, I calculated the number of lefty/switch hitters in the average starting lineup...

Regarding this last table, I was shocked I wasn't ranked first. My only RH batter is my 2B platoon of Nap Lajoie / Doc Farrell. I guess I could have gone with Frankie Frisch (like justinlee_24).

Lots of deadball pitching in this league. Most people did not draft a bunch of power hitters. An easy way to see which teams are more heavily weighted to power is to look at the stat called "isolated average". This stat is measured by taking Slugging Percentage minus Batting Average. Sure, doubles and triples will also effect this, but it's assumed most players drafted that aren't HR hitters probably hit a lot of doubles and triples anyway. So the teams ranked high in Isolated Average also probably have the most HR hitters.

ronthegenius has the most right handed hitting lineup and is also the most HR laden team. He clearly focused on building a team specifically designed to destroy Chris Sale.

I'm in trouble. I think I underestimated the Coor's effect. It looks like everyone else is preparing for slow pitch softball scores.

Fun fact: In the poll in the Themes thread, we asked what you thought the average IP total would be.

11% said 1700+
26% said 1600-1700
53% said 1500-1600
11% said 1400-1500

So 2/3 of us guessed much lower, which means either no one thought too much about that poll or maybe it got people thinking that other teams would draft low on innings and maybe they should try to be a little higher just in case others were guessing poorly. Or maybe it doesn't mean anything. All I know is only 2 people thought the average would exceed 1700, and 9 teams went ahead and took that many.

For the record, I voted with the 26% and then barely snuck my team total over the 1600 line.

I wound up taking Snuffy over Frisch in a last-minute decision, and that pushed me farther to the right side than I planned to go. I was originally targeting 6-7 L/S bats but wound up with only 5.

I voted 1500-1600 and drafted 1667 *good* innings (no mop-ups). So count me as one of those who wanted to draft more innings than what I thought others would draft. It turns out I ended up with nearly the exact average (counting mop-ups).

But I feel good about my total since I'm the top 6 ERC# and everybody with a better ERC# has fewer *good* innings than I do. And I'm ranked in the top 8 on defense as well.
