I had fully intended on waiting until the fall to "retire" but I can't continue to support a product that has clearly lost it's path. Empty promises, loopholes, antiquated conference alignments, etc is what we are stuck with. The "developers" have promised updates for years and we're still waiting. When a glitch is brought to the attention of WIS GD staff it's not uncommon that the reply is the glitch is a result of something a user did and not anything wrong with the programming. WIS GD is aware of a loophole that some coaches are using that gives them a huge advantage in game play - hence, NCs left and right. Who wants to compete with that? The latest recruiting glitch has apparently been around for sometime but hasn't been widely reported until recently. And there are other issues that make sticking around a lost cause. I've been a huge supporter of WIS GD in the past but no more. Someone reach out to me when an update occurs - a real update and I might be intrigued enough to check it out. Until then, it's been fun, thanks to the friendship over the years and good luck to all. Just hope many of you don't wait around as long as I did. It ain't worth it. And I will not be renewing TTATO. Adios.

That said, what is the loophole that coaches are winning multiple national championships with? That seems pretty important...

Now, what in the world is this loophole in gameplay? I have had my suspicions. Strong suspicions, but nothing in terms of concrete proof.

You would be doing all of us a great service if you allowed us to know what this loophole is. You don't owe GD anything. Especially after all you have done for them.

Good question. I’ll defer answering to others more qualified to answer. Maybe coaches with triple digit NCs?

I qualify but I have no idea of a loophole you are talking about.
Certainly those more experienced get to know pretty much what works and what doesn't and that to me is an advantage. But we put the years and experience in to earn this.
Other than that I am as curious as others who have asked for this Mysterious Loophole :)

I think things are collapsing. I just decided to retire my Wingman profile.

They aren't going to "fix" the game. It's fun as it is, but I'm running out of gas and energy. I'll stick around until my Blind Squirrel profile runs out, and then do a re-evaluation myself.

Personally, I have come to peace that the game is what it is, and that WIS investments will be minimal.

For me, this game is a blast and the competition, challenge and comraderie is what keeps me here. But, I understand the frustrations from others, and I respect their right to feel that way.

Should the game eventually comes to an end, and the Lord still wants me here on this rock, I’ll help turn the lights out.

In the meantime, I’ve got to figure out how to fix my defense:)

Majique, wow, I didn’t expect your “retirement”! I’ve appreciated your efforts to enhance GD, it has been helpful and entertaining for many of us. I’ve worried about some “advantages” that only a few Coaches seem to have that I can’t figure out trying many different things over many seasons. I’ve won many NC’s, but a couple Coaches beat me beyond reason.

I had a few suspicions but just thought I really hadn't grasped the game. Looks like I made the right decision to not renew and instead try out the basketball side.

We're sorry to hear that you're leaving Mike. You are a valued member of this community. We've not been alerted to any "loophole" within the game and we would hope that if anyone had found something of this nature or knows of it's existence that they would let us know because it's important that we address major faults within the game that would create an unfair advantage for someone.

In regards to the recruiting display issue. We didn't know the vast extent of this issue until this week. Up until this week we thought it was one isolated to one user that frankly we did think was attributed to something on the user's side. With the knowledge we have now we are actively looking into addressing the display "lag" that is happening in recruiting. We are asking that the community be understanding to this sporadic issue and if possible to not doing any recruiting actions for at least the first 20 minutes after a cycle takes place. Recruiting actions are still being processed on the back end and we are looking into why the front end "lag" is happening. WIS has a lot to process at certain times of the day and this can cause delays with everything catching up.

Regarding major updates, there was a post made in the critical news weeks ago here (https://www.whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?topicID=531686) disclosing our plans for a GD update. This update is being worked on and now that Bob has disclosed the future of GUESS reports we can confirm that we are incorporating parts of GUESS into the site. We feel its important to continue this wonderful product that Bob has put so much time an effort into and we want to continue to have this available. We know the community values what it provides. Bob had asked us to keep quiet about this until he publicly announced his decision to no longer continue his site.

Again, we're sorry to see you go Mike and wish you the best in all that you do. If anyone does have information about this "loophole" please let us know so that we can address this and make the game fair for everyone.

Chetty, I just gave up a near perfect team.
And I keep getting a nagging need to go find another team.
It seems I don't care that much to decimate the rest o f the league which my Colorado Mines in d2 Camp was doing .
But it is the process of taking a team to that point that I enjoy. Taking a mediocre team and making it an NC competitor.
Dunno if I can stay out of this dumb game. But I keep looking at teams that are available. And I still have 7 credits left......:)
What I need it a program like AA to help wean me from this monkey on my back :(

I'm with you Mojo! It's been my addiction for longer than I care to share.

The fun part of this game is the journey, building a team, tweaking my strategies, and occasionally uncovering something I hadn't considered before.

If people need the instant gratification of winning titles, this isn't the game, lol.

Sad to see you go ,Majique! Your advice has been greatly appreciated and your show was a highlight. I bought a 10 pack with the discount they recently gave, so I'll be sticking around for a bit. I hope we see important, game changing updates. I've been considering taking on a second or third team to burn out my credits quicker but Jordan's promise here makes me wanna keep the one team, slow route.

I also play NBA basketball on this site and they recently did a huuuuuuge overhaul of it to address game breaking unfair advantages (overpowered assists)... They used the help of some of the most elite bball coaches to incorporate new balance for the game and it seems to have worked really well. I hope they can do something similar for GD.
