Mid-season NAC report.
I will use this space to post my observations on each team. Hopefully this will be a place for us to discuss strengths and weaknesses in an effort to improve the over-all health and strength of the NAC.
disclaimer...... I am by no means an expert/authority on HD.
However, the threads I have seen along these lines, here, and in other worlds appear to be very useful as well as entertaining.
Mid-season #1
Yeah Lasell Laserz pew pew pew....
RPI - 30 SOS - 209
No question they are the class of the conference as of now.
5-1 con. 15-1 overall. They have flirted with being ranked... climbing up to #26 before an awesome effort from a galant squad slapped em back to where they probably really belong.
30 & 209, I find these #'s are probably about right on. They scheduled a little weak for as good as they have become, their over rating of 512 should end the season around 525-530. Their only real weakness was once again exposed by . They should make the NT if our conference doesn't water down their RPI too much. There I predict they will be good for maybe 2 games!
Next season.... look out. Ranked all season and dangerous is my prediction, before they grad a large class of seniors!

#2. Husson RPI - 34 SOS 95.
6-1 con. 14-3 overall.
I predict we end about 12-4 in the conference. With the second overall record to Lasell.
Ida showed everyone we were extremely human, one night after we slayed the giant. We have several flaws we have been hiding all season. Next season we will again be playing in the Laserz shadow. We should be a better team next season, however I predict we don't finish with a better record as I believe the conference will be much tougher. I optimistically hope for a NT game this season, however that will depend on how our NC foes continue to fare as the conference will be a weight on our RPI, as well as I expect to lose a few more close games.
Our goal was 175 RPI or below first season.
Below 100 RPI second.
Below 50 third, and NT.
Ranked and NT in the forth. We are on course so far....

#3. Salem St RPI - 237 and SOS - 375
6-1 Con 11-6 Overall
New-comer Luckstar certainly has his stars aligned right. He has slid by several opponents on his way to the top of the South division. His overall rating of 462, and SOS near the weakest in Allen at 375 seem to spell disaster, but as long as you win.... they don't matter! He has 2 pretty nice big-men who really play above their #'s. His team improvement as been excellent, as he appears to have for-gone practicing his offense or defense. This should have serious repercussions down the road when he graduates 4 seniors, however, if the stars are aligned right....who am I to say?

#4. Mount Ida RPI - 231 SOS - 226
5-2 Con 7-10 overall
I didn't put Ida here simply because they thumped me. I believe Ji03 to be an excellant coach/recruiter. His team allways has high IQ's and plays very efficiently down the stretch. He struggled thru the NC portion of his schedule at 2-8 however he lost 3 games to decent teams near the end by 5 or less points. He graduates only one real contributor, And I expect him to be a force in the South from then on! He will be a tough out in the con. tourney for anyone, frankly I hope he finishes #2 as I fully expect to be the #2 seed there and would much prefer to watch a Ida/Lasell match-up as opposed to playing either of them at seasons end.....LOL

#5-#9 is going to be tough and will take some serious Anheiser Busch help to determine who I fear next and in what odor! yeah I said Odor!
9/7/2007 6:07 PM
aight, I gotta make #5-#8 Castelton St, Johnson St, Thomas, and Maine PI. in no particular odor!
These 4 teams have swapped turns smackin each other around as well as others and are rated overall... 482, 483, 486, & 487. They are truely that close as well... we're just waiting for one of em to take off on a 4-5 game win streak and one of em to lose 4-5 and drop down... could be any one of em... or they all could go 5-5 over the next 10 (most likely).
I will rank them by wins and rpi/sos just to have a way to sort em out for now.
These 4 prolly have the ability to beat anyone in the conference, (including Husson), except for th Lazers....it could happen.... They also seem to be just at that point where they could lose a game to anyone except MMA (we hope)!
BTW... the Bud Select is very cold.... what a way to end FRIDAY!!!!!

#5, Maine Presque Isle RPI 230 SOS 374
4-3 Con 11-6 overall
PI is #5 by record alone. I'm not sure they're better than the other 3, but they have won more games and have a lower RPI. However the SOS is pretty inflated sooo......
PI graduates 2 this year but they shouldn't hurt too much. Their main men are sophs... so look out down the road.

#6 Thomas RPI 208 SOS 80.... yes 80
3-4 Con 6-11 overall (80 SOS member)
I gota put Kujay here over Bigsham and Tex on the strength of the RPI and MUCH lower SOS. His record is worse overall but the SOS says it's against better teams. Plus he just nipped Bigsham last night by 2 on Sham's floor..... that's close boys!
Thomas is extremely young except for 2 big studs.... it will be interesting to see how bad they miss them next year.... after that. it's all good.

#7 Castelton St. RPI 298 SOS 377
4-3 Con 9-8 overall
Gota give Bigsham the nod here over Tex on the weight of the 15 or so point win early on in the season. Bigshammer has done well since entering conference play except for the night Becker came to town and used those hookers for cheerleaders. The boys at Castelton just couldn't concentrate and the arena pretty embarrased!
9/7/2007 7:32 PM
#8 Johnson St. RPI 251 SOS 351
3-3 Con 9-7 overall
Hard to tell for sure how good Tex's boy's are until they are allowed to play. I have to admit they have won more games than I expected them to at this point, one things for sure.... Koffler is on pace to end this season at 690-700. At 750 season's end....He will be a load next year. If he has a team around him Tex will be very formidible, if Koffler gets 100 distro... second verse....same as the first...

Farmington and Elms are about 3 straight wins from jumping over these previous 4 to #5. They are both decent, however, their luck has seemed to be mostly of the BAD variety.

I've seen bad luck better than what's happening to me.
