who are the toughest open league sim players? you can't necessarily go by championships because some have had 1000 teams, others just a few.

If I had to go with anyone, Id say Ozzie Guillen in the best all around sim league manager.

With 5 play-offs out of 26 teams, I can understand why you would have that opinion. I rule myself out with 9/21 and only 1 championship.

i'd have to vote for grizzly. most champ league titles since they started champ leagues. thats where the cream rises to the top.

a different person in every version of this game. grizz in the latest incarnation. now that we have an update the title of "the best" is up for grabs. whoever can win with different players and different strategies gets my vote. no credit for winning with the same team 10 times.

Agree with rbow923. Playoffs with Caruthers not impressive.

I am, never had a team with Tony Phillips, Caruthers, Cravath and all those players formerly known as cookies, well I did draft Highball but hey, he only gives you 4 starts and you dump him at the transaction deadline...

I actually specialized in drafting cookie killer teams, the trend was to draft players with very high walks and OBP and pitchers with very low BB/9#, I reacted by drafting hitters with lower OBP but higher AVG# so I'd usually hammer those low BB/9 pitchers since they had a higher OAV# and countered high OBP hitters with very low OAV# pitchers who gave up a little more walks but fewer hits. I don't mind giving up a walk with a man on base but giving up hits results in all runners moving and taking extra bases, so more runs.

Ok, I might not be THE best, but nobody really is, they're are a bunch of good OL players but then again, most of them succumbed to the cookie temptation while I never even considered drafting those players I grew to hate...

Miami_Tilt. If you don't believe me, just ask 'the greatest player is SIM history'

I've gotta say Grizzly, based on his wins in CLs. The guy knows what he's doing.

And just imagine how much better his record would be if Admin weren't always randomly downgrading his players!

Interesting to see what kind of teams grizzly will run now in the OL and Champ leagues. He generally runs a heavy fatigue strategy which is now not possible.

Rest assured, he has plans... big plans... scary, big plans.
