No Future Stars for first time discounts? Topic

I guess this is going to come across as sour grapes, so apologies for that, but why is there no comment anywhere that if you purchase a team using the promotional discount that the Future Stars Scouting Service isn't included?

I've read through as much info as I can while waiting for the Smith world to roll over, noticed that you couldn't use red shirting or withdraw a scholarship early unless you had at least two years booked - figured that was fair enough as otherwise you'd be having a long term impact on the team without committing to sticking around. But nowhere can I find anything to say that what sounds like a crucial element of the recruiting process isn't included either.

Now I feel like I've either thrown 4.95 away on half the product I was offered or have to shell out another $12.95 just to try it out properly.

I've never used the promotional discount but that certainly sounds like an error to me. I'm sure it's not intended to work that way.

Unfortunately not

"Note: New coaches using a promo code must purchase at least one additional season to use the scouting service."

good rule

I don't like that rule if the new coach purchased the season at a discount. That's different than signing up with FreeHD.

Completey agree...if you are shelling out money...any money whatsoever...you should enjoy the full benefits of the game.

Full benefits = full price

Shell out the additional $8 if you want the full service.

An absurd attitude, in my opinion...the discount is to get people
playing the game...they should be able to enjoy the full benefit in order to keep them around.

Absolutely not. This would allow people to use free teams to scout for their main team. Great rule.

If you signed up for only one season, then recruiting doesn't matter anyway. Plus, it's Diii: do a few scouting trips as players drop down during recruiting. You'll be fine.

Thanks for the comments. A few different opinions there for me to consider heheh.

Hard to say if it would have stopped me giving it a try if I'd known it wasn't part of the deal. I guess the thing that annoyed me the most was that it was a surprise. It was pretty much the first thing I went to after the world started up.
