Toughest division you’ve ever seen Topic

What is the toughest division you have ever seen, or even been in (preferably in a non 'tard league)?

Continental Leag just wrapped up its regular season tonight, and the AL North in that world has got to at least be a contender for the title:

Ottawa Otters - 113-49 (.698)

Minnesota PeaceFrog - 100-62 (.617)

Syracuse Snow Pirates - 99-63 (.611)

Milwaukee Cream Citys - 95-67 (.586)

The world is actually a pretty good one-- lots of experienced owners, ranked 63rd in the most recent Green rankings (and probably would be even better now). The power in the AL is just concentrated among teams that all happen to be in the same division-- the last place team (the Cream Citys) was the 4th best team in the AL, better than the next best team by 5 wins. Even at 100 and 99 wins, the PeaceFrog and my own Snow Pirates were in a razor-thin Wild Card race for much of the year since Milwaukee was nipping at our heels. Milwaukee obviously now holds the world record by a wide margin for best record by a last-place team (previously set by me last season), and I wouldn't be shocked if it were the HBD record across all private worlds.

Anyone else ever seen a division this intense?

Four of the first six seasons in Mantle saw the AL North have all four teams with 90+ wins. The best season was season 3, where the four teams won 106, 100, 99 and 97 games respectively.

It would suck to be in that division and have a team where 90+ wins doesn't get you in the playoffs. Brutal.

Not as high of a win total.. but in like season 4 in Doubleday the AL East was very close..

Even though it is a tough division. How in the World could you feel good winning 95 or 97 games, and not even getting a Wild Card Spot. What a tough division to be in.

Especially since you play the same schedule as the likely 81 win team who has a ****** division and makes the playoffs.

This would be resolved (or at least helped) if WIS used a more realistic schedule. I believe the current WIS schedule only plays 10 games against division opponents. In MLB teams play 18 games against division rivals.

The adjustment would give you up to 24 more losses in each division.

We haven't had one season that's been as tight as those above, but here's the win totals the past 5 seasons from the AL West in Minor Leagues:

ALB - 102, 106, 102, 92, 96

FRE - 105, 92, 102, 116, 108

SAL - 98, 96, 100, 99, 100

You think that's bad...
