Best Conference Non-Con Record? Topic

The ACC in Allen is 99-21 after their non-conference schedule. There has probably been a conference do slightly better but this is the best record I remember seeing. A weak SOS has helped a lot but it is still impressive.

I've never seen better. Too bad you pulled them down with that loss

This is just scary. Does any other D1 conference dominate their world like the ACC does in Allen?

They have basically destroyed the SEC and the Big East with the exception of UConn, Syracuse and Kentucky since the recruit the best players from pretty much Maine to Florida to Mississippi to at least Ohio.

by coincidence, ACC in naismith was also 99-21 - have not checked other strong conferences in other worlds - this is currently the strongest I play in

Great conference, no doubt, but despite the gaudy record, the cruddy schedule has the ACC just a smidge above the Big 10 in conference RPI.

But, when these guys start playing each other during conference play, their RPI's will improve dramatically. Just watch, the NAC in D3 Tark used to do it every season. It's kind of cheesy, but it works........

Even though they currently are sitting with an A prestige I wouldn't mention Kentucky in the same sentence as UConn and Syracuse. He's only made the tourny 5 out of his 9(10 after this season) and his average rpi is only 52 in those 9 seasons. That's pretty darn average for the built in advantages of coaching at Kentucky. Outside of 1 final 4 run not much NT success either. His goal is accumulating as many wins as possible so in that regard he's been successful. He wouldn't last in the ACC though.

by the end of the season the gap will be HUGE

ACC in Naismith just got 3 #1 seeds and a #3 seed in the NT. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of them. Its the strongest conference I've ever played in and has a chance to be the highest RPI conference ever in DI pending the outcome of the post-season.

Yeah, after one game of the conference schedule, you guys already put a lap on the Big 10.

Example of the benefit of not over-scheduling. Hard to get a whole conference to sign on, though.

the ACC in knight just went 101-19.

I think it's hilarious that those soft schedules in the North have now turned into 6 of the top 9 SOS's.

here is updated standings after conference play. I hadn't even noticed how much the SOS actually improved until doomey's comment!
