Admin and Public Worlds - Maris Disaster Topic

I feel the need to share this with the HBD Community. I know many of you shun public worlds and for good reason. However, Maris was one of the few public worlds that had a really strong core of owners. We typically only had 2 - 4 openings each season which is obviously is pretty solid for a public world.

However, several seasons ago the infamous caracarn joined our world and did his best to destroy the world. After like 5 business days, Admin finally stepped in and reversed everything.

Since then the world had known tankers etp2021 and pieo enter the world. We were able to get etp replaced for 24 hours after he started the season with 12 guys on his roster, but then he was able to somehow sweet talk Admin into returning the team to him (shocker!). Pieo was replaced halfway through last season, but unfortunately the replacement owner we found reneged on his commitment and the team opened up.

Apparently Pieo was up all night waiting for the world to rollover as he pounced on the team and declared "Admin said I could have the team back!!!"

this led to multiple long term owners sending in tickets asking him to be removed and WIS absolutely refused. 10 long term owners have Maris because they were sick and tired of WIS' continued lack of respect for long term customers and not caring about public world's viability.

I now have seen the light and will be leaving Morgan as well because WIS will do absolutely nothing to help you make that world as good as possible. They allow tanking (.250 win pct is ridiculous), minor league destruction, etc etc.

We have all sent in multiple tickets and the standard response has been "go **** up a rope, we don't care."

I apologize for the long winded post, but several of us spent multiple years in that world and it stinks that it was allowed to be destroyed by the owners of this website. Although I'm sure many of you are not surprised.

I wish I had the gumption to never spend a dime on HBD, but I don't. I enjoy this game too much and private worlds are great. Its just sad that WIS has such a lack of respect for its customers.

Please go check out the Maris world chat to see the disaster.

I've been working since the fall on the ability to take public worlds private. ADMIN has told me (via my on-going ticket with them) that this will be an option in the future, based on certain criteria being met.

Just another example of how Customer Support gives different answers to different people.

I guess they have their reasons for how they threat their customers.

As I mentioned, I'm not going to completely stop playing so they won't lose me as a customer. Maris eventually filled with a bunch of rookies and/or alias (alii?). They get their money one way or another so what do they care.

HH, I feel for you but......public worlds are what they are. The tankers, which seems to be your problem, spend the same amount of money that you do to buy a team. I'll assume they enjoy the game, in a different way, just as you do. So, really, the only option is to find a private world that fits your requirements.

You're absolutely right Mike and thats what I'm doing. I dropped Maris and joined Roy Hobbs. I plan on dropping Morgan and hopefully joining a private world with a few of the others that Maris.

I hope that my original post is not coming across as an "oh poor me" and I apologize if that is the case. I just felt that the HBD community deserved to know how the WIS staff let one or two guys destroy what was a very stable world.

Maybe there are others out there in the same boat who now won't wait for this to happen to them in a public world and will be proactive about searching for a private world. I know I wish I had done that. I just kept hoping WIS would do the right thing and obviously I was proven wrong.

Terrible. Admin really needs to get this taken care of as soon as possible. Those of us in strong original public worlds are completely hamstrung in our ability to police the world. We do what we can by taking care of absentee owners as soon as possible and keeping our turnover low. But we always have to fear that our world will suffer a fate similar to Maris with a few bad apples and Admin will sit on their hands and let it happen.

Damn. Caught in a lie. By a freakin' Canuck.

I have question about private worlds. If the commissioner is not willing to do anything about tankers, is there another course of action that can be taken to have the culprit reprimanded?
