Where do walk ons come from Topic

HD is still a learning process, and decided I would attempt a bidding war just to see what happens. The bad thing is I weent out of town on signing day (had to offer ships last day of recruiting, and could not see what happened until late night after first day of signing). Now I have witnessed my second worst recruiting effort, behind only my rookie campaign.

Only signed one of seven offered, and yes the ones I lost were all yellow against SIMS (except for my test). Now after signing two more on day two, with two new yellows I am totally out of cash, and four open ships (could still only be two).

I have four guys who have low potential, but are green. If at the end of today they are unsigned, will they "Walk-on" with me?? Or will SIM AI give me whomever.

Walk-ons are delivered by the stork. Any further conversation will have to wait until you're older.

In all seriousness, I'm not sure what you mean by green and yellow.

Unsigned players never walk-on.

The walkons are computer generated and will fill any available openings on your roster. We can't see them until the new rosters are posted

the green and yellow is from priorities on the recruit list - but that is just a way for you to organize them for you to look it - the colors dont mean anything for recruiting...

Oh, that's what he meant by green and yellow. Good call. I was racking my brain, trying to figure out if there was something big I'd been missing all this time.

I would still kinda like if, after recruiting was done, it woudl take the remaineder of recruits, decide who goes Juco, and then distribute what is as walkons. I can't imagine that after everyone has had the chance to pick through the recruiting field that is going to leave many superstars in waiting, especially if you take out people going Juco first. But they wouldn't be so godawful as the walkon's now, and that means ghostships woudl still be horrid, but not so horrid that you debate just turning your depth chart upside down at the beginning of the game because you will still win by 30.

judging from the disparity between them and your actual players usually I find them coming from Special Needs schools.

Wow, I actually agree with you on this.

Green-I was their choice, and they are still unsigned? AND you get money back when a Visit is refused, how come you lose the $100.00 if they do not take the ship?

What do you mean by, "I was their choice"?

Was the recruit actually considering you?

I believe the green and yellow he is talking about is the consideration from the recruit. When they are considering only your team, there is a green light and if they are considering your team and other teams, there is a yellow light.

green light? yellow light? what have I been missing all these years?

You newbies have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The green, yellow, and red lights have to do with setting priorities, and nothing to do with what schools are considering you.
