Did they go over or under on ball screens, did the screen defender hedge on the screen, how they defended a flash post, how often they doubled down on a post.... Although probably more changes were done on the defensive end than the offensive end on a game to game basis. We didn't tell the better players not to shoot if they had a great defender on them, but always looked for twists that could be exploited and lead to a big game from a secondary player.
Ig - you were a college assistant right?
you think ray allens record setting nite exploited some weakness while his 0-14 did not - LOL
this whole concept of a 3rd or 4th option getting 23 points because of a matchup is stupid - sorry - just is -
when d wade had a good nite in the marquette era he got 30, when he didn't he got 15, didn't much matter who was out there, I could have been guarding the marquette big men, they still were going to diener and wade?
I am very familiar with UWGB's program, their 4th and 5th options aren't getting plays on offense regardless of who is on them, or at least enough plays to score 20-25 pts. ten maybe.
I also coached in AAU a pair of local kids who are both all conf level d3 players, they are going to shoot 14-22 times a game, just does not matter who is on them, the other 3 starters aren't getting 23 points, maybe combined yes.
Ig - if you were a college assistant, you know this is true.
