The 24 owners listed below will (1) Select one of the original 16 franchises, and (2) Pick a 5-Year combination from the combo’s listed below. You must have five players from each of the five years, with a minimum of $1M spent on each of the 25 players on your roster. For example, if I chose the Cardinals and the 1929-1949-1969-1989-2009 grouping, I would have to have five players from 1929, five players from 1949, etc. etc.
To keep this from being a “love-fest” for any one or two particular franchises, I’m going to limit the number of times a franchise can be selected to four.If we get four of the same franchise, then all four of them will be in their own division.
Each grouping of years can only be used once per franchise. For example, if you pick the Yankees and the years 1909-1929, 1949-1969-1989, noone else who picks the Yankees can use that same grouping of years. However, that grouping of years is still available for other franchises.
This WILL be an A.L. vs. N.L. League.Only 12 of each can be selected. If there’s already 12 American League teams picked after the 16th owner has picked, then the last eight owners MUST draft a National League team.
When this Championship Round is complete, the World Series Champion will receive $150 from WhatIfSports!
Other Particulars:
