ATH vs SPD for a SF Topic

Which would you rather have at SF: 26 ATH / 65 SPD or 52 ATH / 36 SPD? This is D3, playing motion / M2M. Assume all other ratings basically even out. Thanks.

LP/PER?

If it's a PER shooter, I'd prefer ATH.

If it's a LP scorer, I'd prefer SPD

I would take the athletic guy since a low-athleticism SF isn't going to do a lot with the REB and will be mediocre with the LP.  Speed would certainly help with perimeter scoring but the BH should make him an ok scorer.  I also prefer the better defender, although with lower speed it may not be a big advantage against speedy SFs.

Sounds like a split opinion so far, with more people on the side of the ATH / DEF / PER / BH guy over the SPD / REB / LP guy. Any other thoughts are welcome.

Interesting. I was always under the impression that ATH was more important for LP and SPD was more important for PER, yet you (and the subsequent poster) seem to believe the opposite. Have I been wrong all this time?

i feel like they mean to balance em out, but that other guy said something similar. ath helps your rebounding and lp more, for sure.

ATH in my experience helps my 3pt %.  I've had better results on PER shooters that have higher ATH.

I play a motion offense, and I expect that my SF plays on the wing, and would need superior speed to take it to the hole and use the LP to his advantage, more than ATH.

Just my two cents.  I'm nowhere near an expert.  Just thought I'd chime into the discussion

Athleticism, by far without knowing the other catergories.

Here's some info on other categories for the two players I'm asking about:
The high-SPD SF also has big advantages in his REB + LP ratings. The high-ATH Guy has big advantages in DEF, PER, + BH.

How does the rest of your team look?  Do you have rebounding from your guards?  Do you need the extra perimeter shooter?  What do your bigmen look like - are they REB/DEF specialists w/ not great LP?

Also - what are the resepective FT%s for your 2 SFs?
