I suck at Coors, I currently have a team there and am at a loss. Every pitcher I have used sucked. You basically need very good pitchers that can throw a ton of innings like iain said. If only it were easy to obtain very good pitchers. RP's are a crap shoot. I have had some stud RP's have a great year, to a horrific year, to an average one....its a toss up.
I am sure at some point I will figure it out, but I am used to pitchers parks and am still trying to adjust to the backwards nature of Coors.
I basically have been drafting stud hitters in hopes to out slug everyone.
I do have a very good defense, and it doesnt seem to matter.
crabman, I assume you're talking about Major Leagues.
One thing I'd take a second look at there is your opinion of your defense. It certainly isn't bad, and it may even be a touch above average, but I wouldn't consider it "very good" - especially if you weigh it against the type of defense that cbriese usually puts together.
He is one of the few owners who values D even more than I do, and some of his teams are clearly a notch above mine defensively, and mine (in Major Leagues) is clearly a notch above yours.
If I was to play in an extreme park like Coors, I might go that extra mile with respect to D, based simply on the logic that great defense effectively "steals" hits from the opposition, and in Coors there are a ton more potential hits to be stolen.
