From across all worlds...I have a guy who is 38 and been a catcher his entire career (though this is his last season of it). Had a huge DUR early on, and has never played less than 134 games in a season prior to this season (though again, this ends this year most likely).
What I'm curious about is, statistically, what other people are seeing on the high end from catchers in their world. I'm not talking about 1/2 time catchers, 1/2 time DHs, but the guys who are actually catchers. This guys' career stats are amazing -- and he's not linked mainly because I don't want this to be a look at me thread -- and I'm curious for two reasons...
1) What people are looking at for consistent, career catchers, and what those guys end up producing. I know there are a lot of guys that are DHs that end up catching for their offense for a few seasons, but I also know that DUR is typically a problem for most of these guys...
2) How many similar players to my guy are actually out there. I haven't personally found many catchers with that type of high durability that can not only produce but play their position, but maybe they are out there.
