wedcrasher   two battles for two bad players, both of which you'll probably lose
5/13
5:49 PM
chip1213   Maybe we should just see what happens in the next few seasons.
5/13
5:48 PM
chip1213   "a bunch of battles" How many is that?
5/13
5:45 PM
wedcrasher   looking at some of your players, i suppose a few could definitely play on my fort valley state team
5/13
5:41 PM
wedcrasher   chip is obviously not one of the better HD coaches, hes got his nose in a bunch of battles he cant win
5/13
5:29 PM
mmt0315   I love the fireworks in the conference most certainly spices things up --- Just for the record though --- Chip is one of the better HD coaches...you might not wanna come in here and **** him off right off the get...

5:18 PM
chip1213   I guess you could say the same thing about your first 4 years at UIC. No NT appearances there either, but that was probably just bad luck
5/13
5:17 PM
chip1213   I'm sure. That's not a recruiting a problem. And I guess both guys I had that got drafted, must have been accidental. That happens. But you probably wouldn't understand how that works.
5/13
5:05 PM
wedcrasher   and are you positive you don't need recruiting advice? you've been here going on 5 seasons now and still haven't made the NT, what's up with that?
5/13
5:05 PM
wedcrasher   thanks buddy

5/13
4:59 PM
chip1213   And good job with the 5 PG's you are bringing in. Good strategy.
5/13
4:57 PM
chip1213   Hey wed, I don't need any recruiting advice. Thanks though.

4:37 PM
mmt0315   Chip...not so lucky...probably not going to sign the main target...but wanted to give Utah a fight to ensure he doesnt get any carry-over money and to let them know with one more half a bump in prestige recruiting is going to get very interesting in ...

4:37 PM
mmt0315   ...the state of Utah.

4:33 PM
wedcrasher   PATE IS 7'1, I DON'T CARE IF HE'S GOT ALCOHOL IN HIS BLOOD AT TIPOFF, C PRESTIGE AND SOME GUYS ON THE ROSTER THAT I'M NOT SURE EVEN PLAYED IN HIGH SCHOOL.

4:26 PM
wedcrasher   chip, i know it's tough, but my advice would be not to get into battles long distance. if i recruit a guy long distance, i just spend the minimum and if no one gets on him i win! ... but if he's good enough and people get on, it'll usually be with a ...

wedcrasher   ...bit distance advantage. anyways, i try only put a lot of money into local guys within 350 miles, then i'll grab some cheap ones from other areas of the country that may have gotten overlooked. in this case i had to do a full fledged overhaul to ...

4:26 PM
wedcrasher   ...the team, so my strategy is a little different.
5/13
3:58 PM
chip1213   Hey mmt, how did you get lucky with both recruits just a few miles away?
5/13
3:56 PM
chip1213   I was in on Scroggins and Pate from the very beginning. Not complaining, there are always some battles. Sometimes you win and sometimes you don't. I just may not like recruiting as much, if I keep losing out on certain recruits.

In this thread, we talk about how SDSU will be better than New Mexico in the future.

Let's see how this conversation breaks down:

1. chip begins whining about how he was recruiting guys from the beginning (for the record, we're talking about a PG with bad ath and speed and a C with bad ath)

2. wedcrasher offers very reasonable sound advice, assuming that chip is confused because he's engaging in long distance battles.

3. chip becomes offended at the kind advice wedcrasher previous offered, makes a snide comment about wedcrasher going after FIVE point guards! He must want them ALL to play point guard! He's clearly offered all of them a scholarship!

4. wedcrasher decides that since he is the superior coach, he will just own chip real fast with a few remarks about his coaching resume.

5. chip strikes back, touche!

6. wedcrasher makes a few more comments about how terrible chip's players are (they are terrible).

7. chip suggests that they wait and see whose team is better in a few season. hence, this thread is created!

let's bet a gift certificate on who has the better RPI ~5 seasons from now?
5/13/2011 8:52 PM
or maybe a better average RPI over a 3 year span
5/13/2011 8:53 PM
No thanks.  You are clearly the better coach.  It would be too easy for you.

8/19/2011 3:03 AM

no one with a pulse thinks your program is even reasonably, you recruit retards. you have no idea what you're doing, my d2 team could probably beat New Mexico

honestly, looking back at this, i think you're literally a retard. i was talking about better rpi over a 3 year span, not my first three years with my team. a 3 year span over any period from here on out is good.

Glad you could clarify.
