Why did a pinch hitter not come in? Topic

Top of 9th, down 2 runs with 1 out and my RP bats.  I had 2 very good hitters on the bench and both were set to pinch hit.  I had plenty of pitching options as well to replace the RP, why in the world would he not be pinch hit for?

What's the pitcher's pull rating and pitch count? I'd say that's where the problem is .....

Pull was set at 3 and pc min 35.  However, if that is the logic it went it's pretty poor. Since I am an AL team maybe I don't notice these problems

PH settings?

PH was/is at 3- Average

Nobody on base, 1 out and down by two in the top of the 9th.  I could argue that it really wasn't a PH situation because he had to get on before the PH would be called but my heart wouldn't be in it.   I really can't think of an "average" situation where a manager wouldn't use a PH.     Any chance your RP's PH box isn't checked?

Didn't he get walked though, a positive net outcome? Highly unlikely that a PH would automatically get a hit. I think it turned out ok for you, there really isn't much you can do. You simply lost the game. Sorry.

just insanely bad logic, I don't even think I should comment on this its so inane.  I will say this, its not about the lost game (which btw, I went on to win the WS the very next game, thanks.), its about the fact their is no justifiable reason that the P hit.  I would think that everyone would want a better game and if that means looking into the PH code than so be it.

MIKE, every player on my roster was checked to be available for PH and PR, so that's not it.

I hope we're on the same page.   Under PH, was your RP checked?  That means he can be PH for not that he will PH.

Ahh thought you meant the hitters if they were checked, and they all are.  Also, every pitcher is checked that they can be PH for, I checked that first

The check mark doesn't mean they're available.   The PH comes from the manager settings.  Nonetheless, it just seems like "tight" programming.

Yea, sent a ticket, they responded by asking me which hitters and pitchers were available and I have since responded, will update when I hear from them

Reynoso is just too valuable to ever pinch hit for.

Yea, heaven forbid he not be able to pitch the 10th inning that wasn't going to happen!

I didn't mean it as a slight against you. Just pointing out while it may not have been ideal, it didn't actually seem to hurt you. My guess is they'll fire back at you with "we need to look into it deeper" or "the P had not hit his target PC" or something. Not saying it's correct at all. Just saying at least it didn't hurt you too bad as it could have ben worse. Sorry for the confusion.

And congrats on the WS....they always seem impossible to win!
