I get so many inquiries, it is easier to post here. I hope no one minds. I was doing great, but in June the Drs. found new lesions, one on my skull, and 2.on my left arm. That was really hard to take. I have been at home, unable to work since then. I had no dificulty getting on Medicaid, but I also qualifiedfor unemployment, and the amount of money I get disqualified me for Medicaid. Fortunately, Delaware has a cancer treatment program, in which I get all cancer treatments and prescriptions covered for 2 years. I am scheduled for a bone marrow transplant later this month, hopefully that will mark the end of this. I have multiple myeloma, a form of leukemia. WIS has been especially valuable to me, as something that can occupy me for long periods of time but doesn't,t really matter. I treasure the interest and caring of the friends I have found here, and every now and then I even win a game!! Money is always an issue now. I have made efforts all my life at saving, and living below my means, but a few visits to cancer centers took care of my nest eggs. If anyone has a team available that they have no idea what to do with, think of me :).

My dad passed away from multiple myeloma back in 1980. Back then it was a death sentence. I understand that they have made great strides in the treatment these days... thank God. All my best to you!

Keep on truckin', pfatty.  My mom and dad are both cancer survivors.  My maternal grandparents as well.  My paternal grandparents both succumbed to their cancer battles, but they passed in '69 and '91, so treatments are much better now.

pk...wishing you the best of health.  My dad took his own life in 1995 while in the final stages of terminal lung cancer...it still affects me to this day.  My wife is a breast cancer survivor...twice!  Fight the good fight and don't give up!  My family's thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

I am speechless. You guys are the best. I believe that sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own morass, that we don't give other people the opportunity to exhibit the wonderful qualities we possess. Thank you.

I got up this morning, filled with a new joy for life. I walked the dogs an easy 3 miles, did 30 minutes on an elliptical, and enjoyed the morning. Sometimes, things too good to be true happened yesterday. Thanks, guys.
