I understand that in theory, the pitchers and hitters are SUPPOSED to make a difference in a player's fielding, but frankly speaking,and I'm only speaking from my own experience, but I've yet to see any true, hard EVIDENCE of it with any of my teams. I generally use A/D- guys at SS, 2B and 3B and see no real difference in their errors or plus plays regardless of the pitchers I use. I've had D- infielders with few minus plays with oldtime deadballers AND modern pitchers, as well as the infielders with more minus plays with both type of pitchers. I could be totally wrong and off base but IMO, IF there's any true difference, I find it to be negligible at best.
