Since when does the union run the company?  Seriously.......The owners have right's.  I would expedite the new divisions just to show who is in charge.  I would use words worse than Basturds........

Management has the "RIGHT" to run the company........................A-effffffffffiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnggggggggggg men.

I didn't like the plan from the beginning, so I offer up my realignment solution.

32 teams, 2 conferences, 4 divisions per conference

Eastern Conference

Northeast Division:
Boston
Montreal
New York Rangers
New York Islanders

Great Lakes Division:
Columbus
Toronto
Buffalo
Ottawa

Atlantic Division:
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
New Jersey
Washington

Southeast Division:
Tampa
Florida
Carolina
Nashville

Western Conference

Canadian Division:
Vancouver
Edmonton

Winnipeg

Central Division:

Minnesota

Winning the division would only guarantee a playoff spot, not a top 4 playoff spot. The other 4 playoff teams would be decided by point totals, and seedings would depend entirely on point totals.

I did have them in one draft, but I was really having trouble with the geography.  I'll try another draft, gonna have to relocate some US franchises!
