Starting small forward. Topic

I was considering my starting small forward for next season. . and I think I have narrowed it down to two.  One at Small Forward - one at Power Forward.  Any thoughts one which would be better where?  I was thinking storm is more of a Small forward and Hardee is more of a power forward, but. . .

Name Yr. Pos. A SPD REB DE BLK LP PE BH P WE ST DU FT TOT
Thomas Storm Jr. PF 51 54 68 50 61 73 28 31 12 70 71 60 C+ 629
Robert Hardee Sr. C 61 31 78 71 54 15 27 20 33 49 70 68 C+ 577

Is Ball handling or passing more important for a SF?  I was thinking Storm as SF because of his speed and Ball handling.

I would say defnitly Storm.

With those options, I'd also go Storm at SF, Hardee at PF.

Both guys have poor passing and ball handling. Don't know that the difference between 33 P and 12P is really that huge of a deal. I would go w/ Storm at SF. It's bad to have a SF with 31 SPD, and his LP will be good at the SF position. You can get away with a non-scoring PF that can rebound.

I'd definetly say Storm. You don't want Hardee playing the 3 with a 31 SPD rating. Plus, I think Storms LP will create many mismatches.

Storm also has high potential left in perimeter and the higher end of average in passing and ball handling

I wouldn't be afraid to try Storm at PF and Hardee at SF if you need Storm to carry some scoring load and you have a weak defender playing PF on your opponent's team (MM defense).  Hardee brings nothing to the table offensively, and while his SP is lacking a bit, this is D3 and he has pretty good DEF rating.  I think it would work if you need some scoring from Storm.

Make it five votes for Storm at SF.  But I'm with jd, you should switch them when you're up against a man-to-man with either a strong SF or a weak PF.

Storm. Or I'd use a good combo of both. like 24/16 min

Storm. Hardee is too slow

Ok. .for all of you too slow guys. . what would you consider fast enough?  What is your cutoff point?

it depends on other things too, but I'd prefer over 40 (hell, I'd prefer 50)...but at all my teams I am one of the speed guys...

I'm not a speed whore, and the 4 guys I've got starting at SF right now have speed of 46, 67, 73, and 76.  Ironically enough, the 46 is a listed SG and the other 3 are SFs.

I was thinking more of being an ATH dominant guy . . would that be wrong?  Is speed better?

I use to love speed. In div III I'd have 50+ team average, like 65 in div II. Now I focus more on ath and this season in div I my team speed is 53, which is what I use to like in div III. We have made it to the PIT 3 seasons in a row and have been right on the outside for the NT. In div III I am sure hardee would be fine. Nobody would stop him down low if you put him at -2 and he'd be an out standing rebounder. I would go with storm though between the two of them.. However you'd be better off with storm at the 4 for scoring and hardee at the 3 with no distro IMO.
