Correct. They may say they won't join an already existing world but when it comes down to it they probably will.

As one that joined Thome and currently with 6 (going to 5) teams and speaking for myself as opposed to sportsboy speaking for me I WOULD NOT HAVE JOINED ANOTHER WORLD. Because of Thome I will go back to 6 teams.. Since I don't put much stock in pills and prefer thinking for myself instead of usfbully doing it for me, I joined because I am curious how new worlds develop/progress. I committed to 5 seasons and assume most others did as well, which hardly dilutes the product, and unless you are a stockholder or something similar  I'm not sure how corporate decisions/actions enter into the realm of YOUR business. Seems to me your displeasure can easily be voiced via your $24.95.

Do they still make you recruit 16 first time members?

By "committed to 5 seasons..." you actually mean "committed to as many seasons as I feel like sticking around..." whether you know it or not.  WIS has no method to, nor do they enforce "committments" to any number of seasons beyond 1.

I used to be of the same mind as sportsboy.  But I've now flip-flopped on the issue.  As MikeT has said a few times (I'm paraphrasing here)  the good worlds will always fill, the tard worlds need to go public to fill.  The worlds I'm in always roll quick (except "For Life", but I'm willing to wait it out because I like the rules), because they are good worlds.  If you are in a world that has problems filling, perhaps there is something wrong there.  If you are tired of your world taking forever to fill, give up on it.  Join a world with a commish who cares about getting the spots filled before rollover.  You'll fall in love with that team in the end, and you'll be better off for it.

I actually have faith that "For Life" can be one of those worlds that roll quick.  It's just been a bit of a bumpy start there, no thanks to postrnutjob.

Actually, I like the aggressive facebook "like" campaign going on right now.  They can add new worlds at a higher rate if they are going to be proactive about marketing the product like that going forward.

Force owners to buy a 5 pack that can only be used in the new world.   Make sure all 32 owners understand that one opening in the first 5 seasons means the world shuts down.  

I bet that does one of two things:
1.  New worlds never open
2.  Screening is so f'ing tight that it becomes one of the best worlds in HBD

Either way, it's win/win.

Not too bad of an idea, but I think it's a bit stringent.  Sometimes real life just gets in the way.  Thome world's creation is predicated upon the stipulation that the world can be shut down after 5 seasons if we haven't retained 75% of the original owners.  I actually kind of doubt that we'll make it, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

For once I actually like an idea mike has. What you said shobob is exactly the problem. I do not think there are very many people at all that think it will actually make it past those 5 seasons. This is a great game that takes a little time to get a solid grasp of. With there needing to be x number of new owners and having ALL of them stay is just not a realistic concept. Many people can get turned off pretty quick and if they are going to lose their 1st team, that can be a turnoff as well. There just isn't a big upside to allowing more worlds to open up at the moment. That can change in the future but for not it just doesn't make sense.

Yep, shobob, real life does get in the way.  And, since this is just a game on the internet, no one should be upset if their world is shut down after 4 seasons because life got in the way for one of their members.
