A play on the franchise twist league's going around......but with a catch

1. Pick any player who ever for played for your franchise.

But

2.  You must use their most expensive season, not the one you feel is the best.

and
 
3.  Their most expensive season must not be from the franchise you are picking; No Ruth on NYY; Ruth belongs to the Sox or Braves. Pedro can't play for the Sox (can play for LaD, Mon, NyM, Phl) , and no Maddux on ATL either.  Thus, Gehrig, Williams, Yaz, Biggio, Gwynn, etc are not draftable, since they only played for one team.

4.  Yes to DH, pick a stadium your franchise called home at some point.
5.  No trades, ww, clones, AAA.
6. $160 cap.   There can be multiple's of each franchise.
7. You can flush out your roster with players under $250k, but they must be years that they played on your team, and these guys don't need to be the most expensive year.
8. 24 team league, 4/4/4 style

Should mix up the rosters a bit, without the traditional guys (pedro on the sox, maddux on the braves) and forces you to find other players as well, since you can't use Williams, Gehrig, Ripken, Mantle.....

So are you picking the player's most expensive season that didn't come from your franchise or picking the most expensive season of his whole career and if it happened with your franchise, you can't use him at all?

In other words:  
If I pick the Phillies, can I use 2000 Pedro?
If I pick the Phillies, can I use 1960 Ashburn (from the Cubs) even though his 11 highest-salaried years are with PHI?

The pedro example......It has to be the players' most expensive season of their entire career, and that same season cannot be with the franchise you are picking......so, players who only played with 1 team are unusable......pedro can't be on the BoSox, but he (the 2000 season, being the most expensive) can be on the other teams he played for....Ruth cannot be on the NYY, only on bos or the braves franchise

Ashburn cannot play for the Phil's, since that was his highest salaried year...So '58 Ashburn would have to be on the Cubs or Mets.....

And since it is their most expensive season, Ruth has to be a batter, not a pitcher.  Smokey Joe Wood & Reb Russell, if you use them, they have to be pitchers.

Does that make any more sense, or did I just muddy the waters?

If the most expensive season is split between teams, can you take the one with the non-franchise stats?
