Before I signed up for my SUNY Potsdam squad in Knight I spent a lot of time reading the Forums to gather as much information about the game as possible. I really was interested in the thread about "Two teams, same world" and whether Coaches thought something like that was wrong. As I was going through making my non-conference schedule for next season I came across this situation [I'll leave out the info concerning ID's & teams]:

xxxx coaches a team in a D3 conference.
xxxx1 coaches a team in a D3 conference as well.
Same world.
xxxx1 plays a non-conference schedule comprised of one game against xxxx and his other nine games are from the same conference as xxxx's team. Four of those non-con games are against teams in xxxx's own division.

My question...Does this person have an unfair advantage because he's using his other team to scout and gameplan against teams that makes up a good portion of his conference schedule? Neither team uses the same off/def schemes. Any thoughts?

There really isn't a problem because he's not going to learn much that he couldn't learn from regular box scores.  It probably doesn't hurt him that he knows more about what each team can do, but there's no reason to say he benefits from playing his other team's opponents

Look at it this way, he's guaranteed to give himself a loss.

Of course its unfair, but nobody seems to care much, and if anybody has enough time to waste doing this crap I would just let them. They have to be a winner at something right?

He shouldn't have two teams in the same world IMO.  Seems stupid to play against yourself though.

It's almost like doubling your recruiting budget. They can scout certain states with one account, and then deifferent ones with the other. So they get double info for less money.

ya, my first go around I had a dialogue with WIS about something similar I saw...  the answer was something like most of the successful coaches do utilize multiple teams.  Kind of a joke if you ask me-- I would think the successful coaches that don't cheat (maybe there is none?) would be raising holy hell.  Either that, or we all need to be doing this.  I am thinking that those who don't "cheat" are in the small minority.

Just having multiple teams does not mean you cheat.  Having multiple teams means you can learn a lot more from more experiences.  When this game started, I had 4 and in some cases 5 teams in multiple worlds.  It was not because I was cheating, it was because I enjoyed the game and had plenty of free time.  

Granted unlike the situation in the OP, I never scheduled my own team for OOC games.  There was a time or 2 before we were able to schedule our own games that I ended up playing my own team, but it was not fun knowing I was going to lose one of my games.  

I became one of the most successful coaches in this game in the early half of this game's existence by trial and error.  I had about 16-20 teams in 5 different worlds going at one point.  As a result I had a LOT of opportunities to try new things.  I've always had the mentality of high risk means high reward, and so on the high risk parts of the game, I would try it out on one team and if it worked I would continue to use it on the rest of my teams.  If it didn't, I would be hurt on 1 of 16 teams, so it wasn't that bad.  This is how I think the top coaches are utilizing their other teams.  I'm certain there are some coaches who do cheat, but I wouldn't say we are in the small minority of those who do not cheat.  Then again, I might be one of the few with integrity and naive to think others are the same way.

i complained several seasons ago. admin said there is no way for them to stop it. i suggested only allowing one username per credit card.
it won't be stopped, because they're making more money from the cheaters than they are from the non-cheaters.

That is certainly not the only reason people have multiple accounts in the same world.  A lot of veterans with multiple accounts had them long before FSS was a part of the game.  I have 2 teams in Naismith, Wooden, Smith and Allen and once did in Tark.  I use multiple teams for either experimentation, competition (Allen has probably the strongest DI and DII conferences in the game and I enjoy both) and it lessens the number of times I have to check HD every 3 hours.

who cares?  I really don't know why some of you just grandstand about "cheating"....STFU...so a guy has 2 or more teams in the same world...who cares?  You can't beat him? You suck.
