I LOL when I think back to 2008, when so many folks ranted about how stupid and scary it would be to put Sarah Palin "a heartbeat away from the Presidency".

And then they go out and do that very thing with Joe Biden.

I think a large part of that had to do with McCains age, FWIW.

I think it had more to do with Palin.

If Palin was the VP for someone who in their 50s, I'm not sure the narrative is there.  Yes, Biden says dumb things, but I don't think people were concerned with Obama dying in office.  For someone in their 70s, it's more likely.  Just my thought.

Yeah, the possibility of an attempt on Obama's life was virtually non-existent.

The left and the liberal media looked for EVERYTHING they could throw against the wall to crucify Palin during the 2008 campaign.  The "heartbeat from the Presidency" thing was one of the things they latched onto.

Meanwhile, Joe "Clown Shoes" Biden got a free pass.

Seriously, Palin was nominated in an attempt to offset the minority vote that Obama was going to get.    She was not qualified.    And that's what the left went after.   And, IMO, Biden was nominated so the "old, white guy" network wouldn't completely dismiss Obama.   He was not qualified either.

I'll add that I did not think Obama had the experience.   And that I thought his foreign policy would be a "learn on the job" thing.    I think we can agree foreign affairs have not gone well.

"Established and respected career"?!   You mean the guy who cheated his way through law school?

The libs respect different things than we do.

All things equal, a man in his 70s is more likely to die over a 4 year span than a man in his 50s.

But all things aren't equal.  Compare the lifespans of an african-american man in Chicago with a white man in Arizona,
