Even playing HBD can be considered a nerdy thing... but wondering how obsessed some of you get?

I think my worst is, that I give my Major Leaguers jersey numbers in the excel sheets I save.  

Every guy on my 40 gets a jersey number. And the one guy we have in the HOF had his retired.

I give my guys nicknames and they are hoooooorrible.

Dee Spahn - The Sphan man.

Don Parque - Don 'Parque the ball'

Dennys Jackson - Action Jackson.


And I've created fake bloodlines for my players.

An IFA I picked up a few years ago, Thomas Callabello, is the son of a retired HOF'er in our league Yunski Collabello.

One of my stud players, Derek Rose is son of the great, Pete Rose.

I play an internet sports game called HBD

I've given a couple of guys nicknames.

Slammin' Sammy Davis and Jamey ******* Cambridge. 

And, if I get two guys with the same last name, I always refer to them as brothers even if one is a black guy from the Dominican and the other is a cornbread-eating  white boy from Nebraska.

Oh and The Great Jimmy Powell.

Haha. I've done that too. I have two Javier's right now on my team. I traded for lil Rodg (he's lil Rodriguez because he's not as good) and one year the Long brothers (one on San Diego one on Boise) won silver slugger awards.

I never do any of that ****, so I guess I'm not as dweeby as you guys.

Sometimes while driving in my car I will catch myself reviewing, out loud, team summaries and strategies. If my car is bugged ... somebody somewhere is either bored silly or dying laughing.

I go out of my way to make greats in my worlds don't get stuck at 2997 hits or so. If they are from Western Washington I try to narrow down where they live.

The first thing I do every morning is roll over and check my phone for the most recent score. And then between 11:19 and 11:24 I check for the score of the new game. At 7:19 I check for the score of the third game. I feel genuine joy and excitement seeing the small W next to the score. 

One of the ways I get my starting line up some rest, is that I'll play a bench player instead if he is from the visiting state.  That way he can play in front of his friends and family.
