This was probably the theme I enjoyed more than any other, when I used to play more theme leagues. It seems like most of the leagues are progressive in nature, and I am just not as into whatif as I was 4 or 5 years ago to commit for more than one season.

Anyway, here's the basic premise. When an owner joins the league they must ban a player. The owner also must pick a theme to change their team into. I suppose this doesn't have to be announced when you join, but if you wait too long someone might steal your idea :). Here's an example with my squad when I last played in a league like this.

Yes, my theme was the movie Anchorman. We had admin change the names of all the players that comprised our teams. I had Brian Fantana running point, Ron Burgundy at the 2, you get the picture. I quoted the movie throughout the season. I know I at least had allot of fun.

Once the league fills each team needs to sitemail me the player name changes and I will send the name changes to admin.

You must ban a player at the very least when joining. You can think about the theme and post when you've decided. I will email admin before we get too deep into this.

I remember this too and agree we'll be hard pressed to get admin to do much of anything.  But just in case my theme will be NBA nicknames... and will make every attempt to use one of their IRL nicknames.  And I'll ban The Admiral!

As much as I've always wanted to punch Scottie Pippen in the face, I'll settle for banning him here.

By the way, just in case admin isn't willing to change the player names, I'd still be willing to join a league in which owners declare themes for drafting players - for example, all Europeans, only point guards, guys who jumped straight from high school or who never played in an All-Star game.  The very first WISNBA team I ever fielded included only guys who had been banned at some point for substance abuse. 

Admin responded and said they would be willing to make the change if the league fills, but to allow some time for this to get done once the player changes have been submitted.
