Have they changed the settings that calculated grades?

I had a player on both San Diego State and Louisville become ineligible late in the season in the last couple weeks. Hadn't had a player become ineligible in years!

Not sure what is going on. Thanks in advance

Nope

It’s possible they could tweak it without telling us, but I haven’t noticed any change. I’m also pretty conservative with study hall, so a change may be more visible to folks who use few or no minutes.

Okay. Might be just probability catching up with me. Thanks guys

I dont know, Ive had a player at 15 minutes practice time because he was around 2.3 gpa and my last report at mid term he was at a 1.8!! Now I had to bump him up to 20....yes 20 friggin practice minutes! Ive never ever had to go that high so I wondered the same thing as you ftbeag.

Crabby.... I feel like as long as you don't decrease minutes when you get the midterm, you are "usually" ok. If putting those type of minutes in study hall is needed, you gotta do it. It won't last long. After freshman season, you can drop the minutes substantially.

I'm one who puts a lot more minutes in SH than most coaches. And I get made fun of for it. But i've never had a player become ineligible. And I never even really have to sweat it or pay attention to it. And unless that players WE is really low, you'll have no problem getting him maxed out.

Keep his nose in the books this season, and it will all work out in the end

I do agree that typically not decreasing the minutes will help, I guess I was just scared seeing that 1.8 and feel I need to jack up the minutes, lol.

You are right though, it wont last long and once the finals come I will drop everyones SH minutes to 0 to finish out the season.

I just have never seen someone with so many minutes already in SH practice drop like that...I hated going to 15 minutes to get him to low 2's let alone pumping it up to 20 after seeing that gpa drop below the 2.0 threshold.

A little different but in this topic, do you have to keep your players in study hall after the final grade report each season? Seems like you could use those points elsewhere if they're not in class?

Nope, I zero mine out and use the points elsewhere

I have noticed a change. I never used to use study minutes at all. I'd put 5 in at midterms if a player was in trouble.

Now I have some players sitting at 5 and I'm having to use 7 or 8 for a few players.

I think they have tweaked the formula.

100% guarantee you they have not changed anything about GPA/study hall.

Look at the mountain of evidence that seble is too busy to improve the game code. Why, if he had time to make a change, would he make a change that he didn't even tell the players about? People in multiple games on this site are constantly begging for updates. If he updates anything, he's gonna tell us.

Do you seriously think the guy had his new company buy WIS just so he could make little silent tweaks and screw with us? Come on.

I would. There's no way I would endure all the wailing and gashing of teeth over such a miniscule, barely noticable tweak in practice settings. I'd just do it, go on about life and let people adjust.

I've also noticed players with decent to good work ethics losing skill points with low or 0 practice minute settings. This never used to happen to me. Again, it's a minor tweak that doesn't impact game play or gameplanning at all but if you announced you were going to do it, people would absolutely lose thier minds.
