How many times have you seen four #1 seeds come from the same conference.... but all from the same HALF of that conference?

Shout out to CAC in Smith D2!

Never seen all four. But when I first got to the Big 12 in Iba, it had three 1-seeds.

We all made the E8. 2 of us advanced to the F4 and were forced to play. Was hoping we could all make the F4. Oh well

We had all four final four teams in TARK a few years ago. I think it was a 2 #1 seeds, a #2 seed and and an 11.

I think we had all 8 elite 8's as well.

I remember hearing about that. That's a cool accomplishment as well

that is crazy, i remember when you guys did that - probably the most impressive feat by a single conference ever? ACC in whatever world that is was ridiculously good, for some reason i think they said they had all 4 final 4 teams once, that may be more impressive on virtue of being d1. still, pretty ridiculous - all 8 elite 8 teams - hard to beat!

kinda makes me jealous - in the days when i was all about building a power conf (d2 glv tark), seeding worked totally differently, and you couldn't maintain depth of awesomeness through the conference like you can now. when we had 3 final four teams with runner up and champ, it sort of felt like the ceiling to me. still, all 8 elite 8 teams in today's game, even with the friendlier seeding and the stupidly empty worlds, seems to be clearly more impressive.

i think more folks need to work their way to power conferences like that - i was shocked how few conferences i saw in a couple worlds i looked through, that had most of the teams full. it was like 1-2 per world and then a bunch of 2-5. how can you get better playing garbage teams? all the stats become total garbage, its impossible to separate the signal from the noise. my biggest advice to coaches trying to get better - go to a power conference and schedule tough - that way you can learn how your team and players perform against real competition. its also great fun when things like a conference championship or CT title mean a lot and the rivalries are meaningful.

It took some subtle recruitment to make it work. I would build up a sim, forget* to renew , let someone else take my team over and then rejoin the conference using a sim. I think I did it three times.

*when I say forget, I mean it, I am an idiot and literally forgot

For awhile, I was objectively the 5th or 6th best coach in the conference. Combine the collection of good coaches with the compactness of recruiting in CA it was/is super fun IMO.

I think I may have been at csu-bakersfield when that happened. I remember you coming and going often Joe!

Speaking of four aces..................two simai's in the conference. Here's your chance to show what you are made of!

Agreed. Come join. It's rare we have an opening. And we have two right now. Really odd. Challenge yourself, come compete.

I'm so proud to (technically) be a part of this accomplishment. There were 9 teams that made it into the NT from the Cal. CAA that year, and the other 8 teams made it to the E8.

My team was just happy to be there.
