Are you saying that anyone can get any job now?

From what ive seen if you have 10 seasons of experience you can obtain any job. I know of multiple coaches who applied in Tark to Not Qualified positions and got them. Not saying they arent worthy but what if a seasoned d2 coach takes over Duke and has never fought for recruits in a D1 setting. If they cant get them to relevant in 6 seasons shouldnt someone else have the shot to make them a top teir program like they deserve? Or do you let them learn at Duke for 40 seasons.

I think Firing should only apply to top programs. and it should be kind of hard to get fired but it should be possible. Thats why i like the hot seat meter idea. You should have fair warning to before you are fired.

I agree. When I left I think with one id I had like 3 d3 titles and 3 d2 titles yet only could only get d prestige d1 schools. It makes since now why I see few d1 schools available.

I think the ONLY way firings can work is to be 100% transparent with requirements. I don't think it's a good idea to be ambigious like some things are in this game.

Like you take the job and you have several requirements listed at the top of your team page.

1. Make NT once in first 4 seasons
2. No more than 4 consecutive seasons without a tourney bid.

Something like that. The hot seat meter is a start but trust me, based upon everything else that happens around here with dice rolls, projection report, EEs, etc, randomness and ambiguity will just frustrate people and if they get fired when they THINK they've done enough to keep the job, they will ***** a lot and quit playing. And WIS doesn't want to lose that consumer.

These requirements should probably be standard and well documented for anyone to see before they take the job. Like EVERYONE knows at an A+ baseline you need a tourney bid in first 4 seasons. And at B+ you need tourney bid within first 6 seasons. Whatever it is, something like that.

So when someone gets fired, they come on the forums to say it's BS, you can point to a document and say, look dummy you didn't make the tourney in first 4 seasons, you're out. No arguing. No debate.

nobody who doesnt deserve it is going to get the top jobs. they will be fighting the top coaches for the top jobs. no one from an average d2 school is getting a top d1 job

You are probably right. I'm probably overthinking it a little. Id assume the system would assign any D1 coach that applies before giving it to a d2 coach.

I agree with the clear standard as well. Im just assuming with the new job changes the power conferences will fill up fast and then no one who wasnt already at those jobs will have a chance to get them for potentially years. Then any new member that joins in 6 months will never have a shot at a power conference if that's what they desire.

I may be too optimistic about more coaches moving up though. Im for sure excited to see what happens.

After Phelan Job Changes there is 1 Power job available. I foresee either an issue coming or unqualified coaches getting stomped in power programs.

Nope, Northwestern was reserved early in the season. So there are no power conference jobs in Phelan as of right now.

And this is what folks said they wanted right? Full worlds! We’ll see how long it lasts. It’s not even so much about qualified or unqualified; those last 2 or 3 jobs in every full power conference are really really hard, and upward mobility becomes very difficult to attain from those spots. Folks will figure that out, and while some will dig in and persevere, many will flee to mid-majors or back to lower divisions after a handful of seasons of full price HD. I think it will probably work out ok, and user choices should determine the environment, not the other way around. If there are some real problems determined - I don’t know what they would be, but I don’t have any financial interest, so ? - they can introduce some gently increased standards for keeping power conference jobs, like maintaining the prestige at roughly the level you took the job after a 5 year grace period, up to A-, something like that. But nothing should happen for at least a good 6 months or so, to give the worlds a chance to adjust to the new situation.

Yeah, we need some firing to free up Big 6 jobs, but I'm not too worried. As Shoe said, C- Rutgers rebuild in full Big East is near impossible, so I'm not too worried about it.

I mean ive got my power team Louisville but im curious to see if the teams that fail in the power 6 will move to a smaller conference to try to succeed. I think you are right and we will have to wait and see what happens but camping on a power team will be a thing unless firings start i believe.
