Opening Day Promo - 2021 Topic

We have a couple of promos going out for new and returning users for Opening Day.

Should see some stuff on Twitter & Facebook as well. Thanks!
Calling all baseball fans - we want you!

It's definitely been a while but we miss you and want you back. With the MLB season starting today, there's no better time to get back into Hardball Dynasty and SimLeague Baseball than now.

Returning users who have not made a Hardball Dynasty purchase within the last 2 years are eligible for a 3-pack of seasons of HBD for the price of 1 ($24.95)! Use code RETURN2HBD. If you are a SimLeague Baseball fan, don't worry, we didn't forget about you. SLB 6-pack is just $14.95 using code RETURN2SLB.

If you have any family members or friends who are new to Hardball Dynasty or SimLeague Baseball, they can take advantage of this MLB Opening Day promotion too! New users can get the same promotion offer pricing using code OD2021 for HBD, or code OPENINGDAY for SLB.

Sharing this promotion with the community was meant to show we are trying to grow the games and win back players that left when the previous 2 development teams essentially just let the games sit.

The first line let you all know this was going out on social media, we are trying to keep you all in the loop. Our games come with a steep learning curve and incentivizing new players with a discounted package was meant to bring people back and bring in new faces and our hope was that if you all enjoyed the games you would share with your friends.

Ultimately the way we update and make these games faster is by bringing in more players so I can justify another developer or two. Our goal is to build out a 'real' development team so that we can make impactful changes and get our user base back to what it was during the peak of WIS or even higher.

I don't know what else to tell you all. I feel like since WIS went to SportsHub (maybe even since Fox) people have been upset that nothing is being done and the games are essentially being neglected and now someone is trying to shake things up, and I am met with resistance. This year's focus is on win back and new players because frankly we need them, we can look at other promotions in the future.

Sincerely,

Adam

Thanks Adam. Really appreciate everything you are doing.

I second contrarian’s post.

I absolutely appreciate all you’re doing and trying to do.

I didn’t mean for my feedback to come off as resistance to what you’re doing, but merely passing feedback that perhaps being more inclusive on the “opening day promotion” would have been very well received. Even if it was a one time use, smaller 15% off code for SLB or HBD. Just a little something that still focuses on getting returning/new players but also includes users already here

Can I take this to mean, along with previous silence on the timing, the pieces still are not in place for a proper return to dynamic pricing anytime soon, or is this still something can happen sooner than later with current staff ? As a semi-aside trainwreck moment, can't wait for the inevitable hey newbs/returnees we hope you're enjoying your 100-loss team while battling thru the uptake, and now enjoy different prices !

At my activity peak, I ran 6-8 teams at a time, mostly OLs. I'm now down to 2 Themes. Oops, was just eliminated in a TOC, so now down to 1 team with a couple weeks remaining. Probly not an accident. And speaking of Opening Day, with it comes a better 2021 version of more normal fantasy via other platforms I took the year off that was the faceplant of 2020. Just sayin. And a small token for the loyalites indeed would've been nice. The game also does not grow if we don't stick around. Or did you think we just automatically would ?

Nice job trying to get some guys who have not played in a while back on the site. I know I'll share with the couple of friends who have dropped off the site in the past few years.

Not going to lie...I tried the SLB code for my account and got the "not valid" message. Sigh...I was really hoping that I hadn't bought anything over the past couple of years, but alas, I've kept this game afloat with my wallet.

After many, many years away, the promo code has brought me back. I don't know how long I'll stay but looking forward to playing again.

Cheers.

This promotion makes sense as long as the message can reach the intended targets.

I assume Adam has the necessary means to do this or he wouldn't be making the attempt.

I mean, it’s not hard, right? They have email addresses for all of us...presumably they sent an email to any username that hasn’t played in 2+ years

Yeah that's what I was thinking/hoping was happening.

Let's hope that some of the people who quit years ago give the game a try now that it's being run and developed more actively.
