THEME LEAGUE MLB134442
The original Golden Age of baseball is said to have happened between 1920-1960 but I doubt many of us were around to have witnessed it. Therefore I am creating this Golden Age Vol.2 league for those of us who have the nostalgia of the baseball they loved, grew up with and miss.
Small ball, when HRs were few but mattered and no deadballers could nerf 'em, starters who could finish what they started, players who played their entire career with the same franchise, stuff like that.
RULES
CAP 90 millions
Players from 1960 to 1999 ONLY
4 divisions, 2x6 NL, 2x7 AL, division winners make playoffs
DH in AL ONLY
--- Owners must select a franchise from the 1977-1992 format which will be exclusive and use the city in team name (ex. New York Big Apples, Philly Cheesesteaks, LA Hollyweirds)
--- Franchise selection will be first come first serve.
--- Only one franchise player restriction, each owner will need to draft at least ONE player which played his entire career for that particular franchise. (Ex, Pittsbugh, Willie Stargell, NYY Ron Guidry) that franchise player's career must be a MINIMUM of 5 SEASONS
*Just to clarify, you can draft any players from any franchise between 1960-1999, BUT you will need at least one that played his entire career with your franchise.
--- Each franchise must pick a ballpark that was used by franchise between 1960-1999
NO: AAA, CLONES, WW
YES: Trades (6 to veto), injuries
I'll select the Kansas City franchise, those of you interested let me know which franchise you pick, will update the list in following post.
Thanks!!
EDIT. I'll give out a FREE TEAM to the owner who will manage the starting pitcher with the most complete games for the sake of old time iron arms! A minimum of 12 wins to qualify.
