Sure, I'm in. And I can commish one league.
I really like the original idea that the tournament runs for 6 leagues, so everyone buys a 6-pack of teams. And a different themes for each, including one draft league
Here is what I propose to both reward good results during the tournament *and* to keep suspense all the way to the final game:
Results of first 5 leagues are tallied and all owners are ranked 1-24 by whatever method is agreed to.
The last league is a handicap league, with varying salary cap for each team, depending on their ranking above. For example:
owner rank salary cap for last league
1 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $72,000,000
2. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $69,000,000
3. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $67,000,000
4. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $65,000,000
5 half a million less than #4; $64,500,000
6 ditto above . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $64,000,000
24 etc. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $55,000,000

The Champ of the last league is THE CHAMP

Thanks Tom, I think creative ideas are what we will need to make this 1st 50 mil Draft League happen ... I think seay00's Core 5 League would have worked, along with danpsull's 65 mil Complementary Football Theme League ... those are leagues and ideas to revive in this 50 mil Series

Thanks for the mention. I'm not interested in being a commissioner at the current time. I scratched that itch with the 4 seasons of the draft league, and then the current efforts on the 70 mil league and Time capsule core 5 creation. I strangely find myself back in the open leagues here and there.

If any of you want to take over the draft league or time capsule core 5 (within this 6 league thing or standalone), you are welcome to take the foundation already there and move it forward. You guys could co-commish it, or sort out the duties between each other. It could use a new voice and energy to continue on. Happy to answer any questions via sitemail if this interests you.

For anyone interested—-

0 spots left in the current open league- FILLED.

4 spots left for the 70 mil theme. Allowing 2 teams per owner now.

I like simple!
One Q:
teams A and B, in same division, both finish 12-4. Team A gets division title and a "bye" based on head-to-head.
Team B wins a wild card game. Now B has 14 pts. Then they play each other, with team A winning. Later A loses to someone else. Now they both have 14 pts.
It seems A should have more.
Maybe you get 2 extra pts for being one of the top 2 teams to get a "bye"?

During this 50 mil Draft series, we will have Stat related challenges each season ...

and for the really rare case of two ties in a season, you get 1 more pt :)
1/24/2024 12:49 PM
I’m interested in a 2 team 6 season league.

It really should be 12 guys that are into WIS enough not to quit after a losing season or two.

I like the idea of random team salaries or parameters much more than progressively smaller salaries. All players from a city(team) or from chosen year(s) or cap on some position or….. Shrinking salaries feels like falling into an abyss. Mixing it up feels more like a coaching challenge.

I think coaching points might be awarded based on something other than W/L records to keep coaching point totals closer. The teams that don’t get into playoffs get 1 point, wildcard teams get an extra point, conference teams get a point, conference champs get a point, SB teams get a point and champ gets a point. Yearly totals range from 1-6 for coaching. That would score an 8-8 division runner up that’s not in the playoffs the same as the 2-14 teams. It also rewards the #3 seed with an 8-8 record the same as another #3 seed with a 12-4 record. Every playoff game won puts you further ahead of non playoff teams, but not exponentially. I worry that if coaching points are based on records that after 2-3 seasons someone will be eliminated and drop out if they’re 50 points out. Coaching points ranked 1-24 each season could have the same exponential cumulative effect.

I don’t know why to work in a draft, that really works best for keeper leagues.

5 . . . . 150 - 180 draft league, salary cap $75m ; draft begins about day 140. Draft position based on total points after rd4
6 . . . . 190 - 220 salary cap, handicapped as per post above based on total points after rd5

If you’re trying to manage 2 teams that are playing, it would be tough to research and draft 2 more teams at the same time. Im retired and have the time, but it would be all consuming. You working stiffs would suffer, especially if it’s on the clock.

Coaching Points will be a running total for a 12-member, 2-team leagues tournament.
A Reg. Season win is worth 1 pt. and a Playoff win worth 2 pts, this Scoring System will be simple. I want it to keep things close and our 12 members fully involved down to the final league.

Example: League 1

Member # 1 Coach OleDC

Team 1 ...12-4...12pts plus Playoff points, 2 wins 4 pts, Season total 16 pts
Team 2 ...9-7... 9 pts non playoff team, Season total 9 pts

Member # 1 Coach OleDC has a total of 25 pts.
The coach that has 5-11 and 3-13 records end up with 8 points, which is less than the 9-7 #6 seed. A 14-2 SB champ gets 22 points alone as a #3 seed. A couple of good or bad seasons to start could lead to insurmountable lead/deficit.

Simple is good. I mostly like it.
You could consider
1 pt for an >=8-win regular season
1 pt for a >=12-win regular season
and maybe
an extra pt or two for the final season, just to ensure we don't have the champ wrapped up too early?

I’m in! And you don’t need to offer me anything but I really appreciate it. And I’ll commish the 60 mil league.
